This is the first meeting between these sides this season, and the Nuggets won two of three over the Clippers last season.
Clippers looking to squeeze out a third straight win?
The Los Angeles Clippers are targeting their third consecutive victory. They barely defeated the Knicks earlier this week and followed up with a solid 109-100 home win against the Warriors on Friday night in a clash that had L.A. favored by 14.5 points. The Clippers have now won four out of their last five games overall with four of those occurring on their home floor.
Kawhi Leonard has been inconsistent recently, connecting on less than 40% of his field goals in three out of his last five games. Overall, the 28-year old star is having a tremendous season, compiling an average of 25.6 points on 45% shooting accompanied with 7.6 rebounds per game. Paul George did not play in Friday’s win, and he will not suit up in this one either due to a hamstring injury. The veteran small forward is averaging 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Lou Williams is locked in, sinking at least 21 points in four straight games which included 21 points in Friday’s victory. The 33-year old shooting guard has increased his season average to 19.6 PPG. L.A. is 10-8 on the road this season. The Clipppers offense averages 115.8 points per game to rank 4th in the NBA. K
Nuggets looking for a way to get back to winning ways.
The Denver Nuggets will continue a three-game homestand in this one. The Nuggets have been inconsistent, winning only five out of their last nine games overall. They were 12.5 point favorites in a 111-100 upset home loss to the Cavaliers on Saturday night to snap a two-game winning streak. Nikola Jokic continues to shine. The 24-year old star center had scored 33 and 47 points respectively in his last two games before Saturday’s loss. Jokic leads the Nuggets in points with 19.3 on a 50.8% field goal efficiency to go along with 9.7 rebounds per game. Jokic has excelled in his career against the Clippers, sporting an average of 16.9 points and 9.6 rebounds.
Paul Millsap did not play Saturday night due to a knee injury. It is considered a minor injury and he is questionable. Millsap owns an average of 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds. Jamal Murray is averaging a terrific 23 points on the month and he scored 24 points on Saturday night. The 22-year old point guard is now averaging 17.7 points on 43.8% shooting. Denver is tough to beat on their home floor where they feature a 15-5 record. The Nuggets are averaging 109.1 points, ranking them 19th in the NBA. They are holding opponents to 105.2 points, good for ninth in the NBA.

The Nuggets come into this game having covered the spread in three of their last four games while the Clippers have struggled as of late not covering in their last three games but have been a solid bet this season with a 21-18 record ATS. With Paul George’s status in the air, the Nuggets depth and big man presence should allow them to win this game at home.
