Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Warriors lead series 2-0

NBA Basketball: Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 at 9:00 pm EST, Quicken Loans Arena

Point Spread: Warriors -4.5

Golden State look to continue their dominance tonight against the Cavaliers. Since losing 3 straight games to the Cavs two years ago in the Finals they have won 6 out of 7 games, including the first two in the series this year. Steph Curry got hot in game two hitting a NBA Finals record 9 three pointers. If he gets hot like that again tonight it will be tough for the Cavs to beat the Warriors. Curry ended game two with 33 points while Kevin Durant added 26 and Klay Thompson scored 20. There was some concern about Thompson’s ankle heading into game two but he seemed to be just fine and provided a good compliment to Durant and Curry. The Warriors also seemed to get a wake up call from the close game one and controlled game two from the beginning. If they can come out shooting the ball well it will be tough for the Cavs to keep pace.

Cleveland hopes that coming back home will help turn the tide in this series. They let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers in game 1. If they could have gotten a split in Golden State they would be feeling really good about themselves. Instead they are left to ponder what could have been. The Cavs have at least proved that they can play with the Warriors, which not many people predicted. But they must now win at home and the need to win tonight if they realistically have any shot at winning the series. LeBron went off for 51 in game one, but it just wasn’t enough. He still needs more help from his teammates as he can only carry the team so far. Kevin Love did score 22 in game 2 but there was little else in the terms of help from the team. They need to feed off the energy of the home crowd tonight and push the Warriors.

The Warriors just continue to cruise and game 2 looked more like what we were expecting in this series. The Cavs wasted their opportunity in game 1 and they may not have another opportunity like that again. Curry and company just seem to present too many problems for the Cavs to deal with. The Cavs seem to need the Warriors to not shoot well, but do not really have the defensive capability to cause that. They just need them to be cold from the field. I just do not see that happening. I think the Warriors are just too good and even though they are on the road they will still pull away and win this one by at least 10. Take the Warriors in this one.
