The Chicago Bulls will head to Indiana to take on the Pacers at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tip-off is at 7 PM ET. The Pacers have managed to stay respectable this season, and currently sit in 8th place in the Eastern Conference at 13-11. The Bulls on the other hand, have been a dumpster fire from the word go, and are in last place in the East with a 3-19 record.
Not many people expected the Pacers to compete this season, especially after losing their star forward in Paul George this summer. And yet, here they sit with a solid 13-11 record. Despite not having their best scoring option anymore, Indiana has been lighting it up on offense, averaging 108.9 PPG, good for 6th in the league. Their new addition in Victor Oladipo has come on to average 23.1/5/4, contributing across the board. Bojan Bogdanovic, also a new face, has averaged a career-high 15 PPG, good for 2nd on the team. A franchise known for lockdown defense and a serviceable offense has flipped the script this season. They are now an elite offensive team, but have given up 107.8 PPG, which is 22nd in the NBA.
When it comes time for NBA franchises to select the league’s next stars in the 2018 draft, expect the Bulls to be near the top of the list. They are currently the worst team in the NBA, and are looking more and more like a 60+ loss team. They do have a bit of young talent that they hope to develop this season in Lauri Markkanen and Zach Levine. Markkanen has been one of the Bulls’ biggest contributors, averaging 14.5 points and 8 rebounds so far in his rookie season. Levine has yet to play for the Bulls as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered last season, but he is tentatively scheduled to make his Bulls debut in about a month. They will need every bit of him, for they are in the midst of a 9-game losing streak fueled by an atrocious offense (95.6 PPG) and shoddy defense (107.2 PPG).
Free NBA Chicago Bulls @ Indiana Pacers Prediction
Both of these teams have been pretty good to bet on so far. Though the Bulls have been terrible in real life, they are a respectable 9-12-1 ATS. The Pacers have been excellent, going 15-9 ATS. As stated previously, the Bulls are in the midst of a 9-game skid, while Indiana is 7-3 over their last 10. They are coming off of a 115-97 demolition of the Knicks in Madison Square Garden, though it is worth noting that New York was without Kristaps Porzingis or Tim Hardaway Jr. The Bulls last played against the Cavs at home, and were ran out of the gym to the tune of 113-91.
Other than the shellacking against Cleveland, the Bulls have competed recently. Three of their last 4 games have been decided by 5 points or less, including a pair of 1-point games. The Pacers have been good, but they’re not world-beaters. I don’t feel comfortable picking them to cover here. The O/U is also a tough one. The Bulls will probably end up in the 90-100 range, but the Pacers are tougher to predict. The total of their last 5 games have been 115, 115, 97, 121, 98. I say to play it safe here and play the money line. Take Indiana at -500. Follow along here at CTS365 for any updates, and good luck to you all!
