In tonight's intraconference matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers (17-3) and Denver Nuggets (13-4), both teams are aiming to continue to dominate their Western Conference opponents. Thus far, Los Angeles is 11-9 ATS this season, while Denver is 8-8-1 ATS. This game can be watched on SPEC, ALT, NBA League Pass, or via a league streaming service. According to the Land of Basketball database, based on 175 regular season games played all-time, the Lakers are 105-70 against the Nuggets. In the 2018-19 season, Denver finished 2-1 versus Los Angeles, winning 117-85 on Nov. 27, 2018, 115-99 on Mar. 6, 2019, but losing 121-114 on Oct. 25, 2018. Two seasons ago in the 2017-18 season, both teams concluded their series 2-2 against one another. Moreover, in the Lakers' 114-100 upset loss to the Dallas Mavericks, power forward Anthony Davis scored 27 points and earned a total of 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.
LeBron James finished his performance with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, and no blocks. Plus, shooting guard Alex Caruso had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Lakers' bench players ended their night with 29 points scored. This was not a great game for Danny Green or Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. For other in-depth team statistics, Los Angeles shot 40-87 (46 percent) from the field, 7-27 (25.9 percent) from the three-point arc, and 13-16 (81.3 percent) at the free throw line. Additionally, the Lakers accumulated 50 rebounds, 25 assists, 9 steals, 3 blocks, and 58 points in the paint. Believe it or not, the Lakers' largest lead of the game was by just 10 points. In comparison, the Mavericks had a 21-point lead at one point. Seven different bench players were on the court in Sunday's game for Los Angeles, so this is one of those times when quantity most certainly does not equal quality. They scored only 17 points in the third quarter, while Dallas rolled with 35 points.
Meanwhile, in the Nuggets' 100-97 overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings, shooting guard Gary Harris scored a season-high 25 points and earned 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Point guard Jamal Murray ended his night with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and no blocks. Will Barton also had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and no blocks. Denver also had 57 rebounds, 23 assists, 11 steals, 5 blocks, and 46 points scored in the paint. Unfortunately for the Nuggets' fans, they blew a 17-point lead. Denver scored only 18 points in the third quarter and 15 points in the forth, which resulted in overtime. It is still early in the season, though. Both the Lakers and Nuggets have played consistent basketball so far.
