The Miami Heat completely destroyed the 76ers on Monday, winning the game with a score of 137-106. Jimmy Butler only ended up playing 28 minutes, and he still earned a whopping 38 points on the day. Bam Adebayo came close to a triple-double but ended the night with only a double-double, earning 18 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. Nearly the entire team was incredibly efficient with only 3 players not shooting above 50%.
The Los Angeles Clippers were able to make a strong comeback against the San Antonio Spurs in the second half if the game, winning 108-105. Paul George was able to put the dagger on the Spurs on the night while almost earning a triple-double as well. Instead, PG only earned a double-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. Kawhi Leonard did what he normally every night, and earned 22 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds on the night.
Taking nothing away from the heat, what they’ve been able to do this season is great. The Heat are 6th in field goal percentage, 2nd in 3-pointer percentage, 12th in assists per game, and 7th in +/- rating. However, they haven’t been facing many good opponents during the season. When they have faced teams that are currently over .500, their record is a measly 7-10. Their 12-12 away record doesn’t help them as well.
In the last game that I covered, you saw that I said that the Lakers are a top 3 team, and the Bucks are the best team in the NBA this year. That would leave one spot open for the top three, and the other Los Angeles team fills that spot. The LA Clippers are 5th in points per game, 2nd in rebounds per game, 13th in blocks per game, and 6th in +/- rating. The Clippers also have the second-best home record in the NBA, the Bucks being the only team with a better record.
Miami are 5-2 SU in their last 7 games.
The total has gone OVER in 8 of Miami’s last 11 games on the road.
Miami are 3-6 SU in their last 9 games against LA Clippers.
LA Clippers are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 8 of LA Clippers’ last 10 games against Miami.
LA Clippers are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games at home.
The Clippers are going to win tonight in a close battle against the Heat. Jimmy B is going to do his damndest to keep the Heat in it, but it won’t be enough to keep up with Kawhi and PG. The Clippers won’t cover the spread however.
