The Heat and Wizards will face off on Saturday in what should be an exciting matchup in Washington D.C.

The Wizards have lost three straight and four of their last five, and they’ll likely be facing the Heat at less than full strength with Trevor Ariza listed as doubtful with a groin injury. Bradley Beal has taken over the leading role for the Wizards over the past few months and Jabari Parker has stepped up his performance over his last ten games, but Washington offers little in the way of a supporting cast and as a result owns a capable offense but horrible defense and poor rebounding. Although Washington ranks seventh in the league in points per game, the Wizards have a -2.4 net rating because their offense isn’t terribly efficient and their defense ranks among the league’s worst. The Wizards are particularly poor defenders in the paint but also struggle to defend opposing shooters and allow the league’s third highest opposing three point field goal percentage.

The Heat are in the midst of a tough four game road trip with Saturday’s game being the second half of a back-to-back set, but Miami has won three of its last four games and will look to continue its hot streak against the Wizards on Saturday. Miami will likely be without starting point guard Justise Winslow on Saturday, but the team hasn’t missed a beat without the 22-year-old over its past three games and should be able to continue its high level of play without Winslow as Goran Dragic and James Johnson have picked up some of Winslow’s production well. Miami is a slow, defensively focused team that ranks among the top-ten teams in defensive rating, so a back-to-back set of games shouldn’t be too problematic even against the fast-paced Wizards.
