ESPN NBA PICK Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers
One of tonight’s more interesting games on a full slate of NBA games, features two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference; the Bucks vs the Pacers.
The Bucks have been absolutely scorching hot as of late, winning 12 of their last 14 games and have a one game lead on the Toronto Raptors for the top seed in the East. Milwaukee currently has the best Net Rating in the NBA (4th in offense and 1st in defense) and have really embraced Mike Budenholzer’s philosophy on shooting a lot of threes, attacking the rim and playing great defense. They have been led by MVP front-runner Giannis Antetokounmpo. Giannis is having a MONSTER season; averaging 27.1 PPG, 12.6 RPG and 1.4 BPG ( a PER of 30.07- ridiculous). He’s averaging the same number of points in the paint as a prime Shaq; just an insane season from Giannis.
Giannis has had plenty of help this year. Khris Middleton made his first all star game this year (17.1 PPG, 4.2 APG, 5.8 RPG), and both Malcom Brogdon and Eric Bledsoe have been very good this year too while Brook Lopez has been making threes at an alarming rate. If that wasn’t enough, they made a great trade at the deadline, picking up Niko Mirotic. They are n absolute force.
Everyone, myself included, expected the Pacers to nose dive after all star guard, Victor Oladipo, went down with injury but the opposite has happened. Not only have they survived (last year they were terrible without Oladipo in the lineup) but they are currently riding a 6 game winning streak. They currently sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference; just a great season by the Pacers. They are coming of a 99-90 win against the Charlotte Hornets. Myles Turner led the team with 18 points, Bojan Bogdanovic added 14 points while Darren Collison chipped in with 13 points and eight assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 51 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line as they dominated in the early going to take a 16-point lead going into halftime before the Hornets brought the fight in a closely contested second half. With that win, Indiana improved to 38-19 overall and 22-7 at home.
12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 road games
5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record
18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall
12-2 in their last 14 straight up
0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Indiana
4-0 ATS in their last four home games
0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600
4-0 ATS in their last four games overall
the home team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings

Tonight’s game should be an awesome game. Both of these teams have had unbelievable seasons so far, given where they were projected preseason. As great as the Pacers have been, both at home and against the Bucks lately (again they are riding a 6 game winning streak), I like Milwaukee too much to go against them.
