In tonight’s Eastern Conference showdown, the Bucks head to South Beach to take on the Heat. Both teams look to keep the ball rolling after winning their last match ups.
Despite their sub .500 record, the Heat presently sit at the 8th seed in the East. They’re 6-5 in their last ten, however they’ve fared poorly against Eastern Conference foes and at home. Miami is just 19-22 against the East, and 16-19 at home. The only other teams in the conference with a below .500 record at home are the Hawks, Bulls, Cavs, and Knicks, none of whom are remotely close to the playoff race. Nonetheless, the Heat are a well-coached team with Eric Spoelstra at the helm. Their solid understanding of team basketball makes them a difficult opponent for any foe.
In their last game, they blew out the Pistons by 34. Six players scored in double figures and the Heat looked solid all around. They dominated the glass 51-37, limited turnovers, and scored effectively in the paint.
For the Heat to win tonight, they should look to play a similar game as they did two nights ago. The Heat gave 10 different players at least 12 minutes last game, and their bench depth should help against a Bucks team that doesn’t have a very solid second unit.
The Bucks are 7-3 in their last 10, and they’re 24-12 away from home this year. As the number one seed in the East, they’re a much stronger team on paper than the Heat. All five starters can score effectively from just about anywhere and they rank 1st in defensive rating.
For the Bucks to win tonight, they need Brook Lopez and Giannis Antetokounmpo to limit Bam Adebayo and Hassan Whiteside on the glass. The two centers tend to play short minutes however, and it’s possible that they’ll be able to bring a lot more energy to the table tonight.
Futhermore, the bench needs to be solid against the trio of Whiteside, Wade, and Dragic as the Heat’s second unit. All three are capable of doing significant damage, so the likes of George Hill, Ersan Ilyasova, DJ Wilson and Nikola Mirotic all need to play their best tonight.

ESPN NBA Scores Miami Heat Vs Milwaukee Bucks
After dominating the Pistons last time out, I think that the Heat will have a lot of momentum tonight. Despite their poor record at home, they should be motivated to give the Miami fans a show against the top dog in the East. I’m taking the Heat to cover tonight, and it’s possible they might even win.
Pick: Miami Heat (+5)
