The New Orleans Pelicans were losing to the Golden State
Warriors in the first half on Sunday, then they woke up for the second half and
won with a score of 115-101. Jrue Holiday was able to get a double-double with
23 points and 15 assists. Zion is continuing to show why he was the first pick
on the NBA draft with another impressive showing with 28 points on the night. Nicolò
Melli tied his career high in points earned in a game with 20 points, granted
this is his first season.
The Los Angeles Lakers were able to hold off the Boston Celtic
on Sunday, winning 114-112. Anthony Davis earned himself another double-double
on the night with 32 points and 13 rebounds. Lebron James came close to adding
yet another triple-double to his career, but finished the night with 29 points,
9 assists, and 8 rebounds.
The Pelicans look like an entirely different team now that Zion
is healthy. Ever since Zion has played at least 25 minutes in a game, the
Pelicans are 7-3. One of those wins is a dominant win against the Boston
Celtics. On top of that, Zion has been astounding since making his debut,
averaging 22.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and has a field goal percentage of 58.6%. If
the Pelicans can keep this up, they may be able to leap into the playoffs.
To keep it simple, no team that isn’t named the Milwaukee
Bucks is better than the Lakers. They lead the league in field goal percentage
and blocks While ranking in the top 10 for every other major category. The only
two categories they don’t rank in the top 10 is 3-pointer percentage (15th)
and turnovers (22nd). Don’t be surprised if the Lakers win every
game until they face the bucks by a wide margin.

There are two reasons that the Lakers are going to win tonight, and their names are LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Pelicans just simply don’t have enough talent on the roster to keep up with the Lakers. Don’t be surprised if it’s a close game however, thanks to the efforts of Zion and Brandon Ingram.
