New Orleans Pelicans:

The New Orleans Pelicans have played an incredible season going into the playoffs with a 48-34 record. Not to mention they have been on fire winning their last five consecutive games. The Pelicans sit at number three in the league in scoring defense and that was apparent during their last 122-98 win against the San Antonio Spurs. Anthony Davis has been averaging 28.2 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game for the last two months. He put up 22 points and 15 rebounds during the game on Wednesday. His chemistry with top scorer DeMarcus Cousins helped shine the light on his talents this season. It seemed as if they could read each other’s minds out on the court. Cousins averaged 25.2 points per game and 12.9 rebounds this season before leaving for surgery on his Achilles back in January. Point Guard Jrue Holiday has stepped up and adds 19 points per game. He will be a major player tonight as he tries to contain Damian Lillard.

Portland Trail Blazers:

The Portland Trail Blazers are having a similar season to the Pelicans with a 49-33 record placing them as the third best in the West. Although they have had a rocky month thus far they bounced back on Wednesday with their 102-93 win versus the Utah Jazz. Damian Lillard scored 36 points and 10 assists during the game. Lillard has scored 26.9 points per game, 4.5 RPG, and 6.6 assists per game this season. He has strengthened the team offensively and defensively this year. CJ McCollum added 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in a matter of 35 minutes. He is currently averaging 21.4 points per game and 3.4 assists this season.

This game is going to be a lively one. Both of these teams are great and have been pretty consistent as of lately. They are tied 2-2 in their last four games versus each other. Overall, the Trail Blazers are better defensively, but the Pelicans are better offensively. It is a close game, but I am sticking with my Trail Blazers!
