The Orlando Magic completely obliterated the Houston Rockets on Sunday, winning 126-106. Both Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic earned a double-double on the night. Gordon was able to earn 19 points and 10 rebounds while Vucevic was able to earn 16 points and rebounds. Six different players were able to earn 16 points on the night.
The Memphis Grizzlies dominated the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, winning 118-101. Jonas Valančiūnas went off on the night with an impressive double-double, earning 27 points and 17 rebounds. Ja Morant keeps showing why he should be the Rookie of the Year with a 24-point outing while having a 66.7% field-goal percentage. Six players on the teams earned 106 points on the night, with each player earning at least 12 points on the night.
Where the Magic were struggling offensively before the All-Star break, they completely changed their image as a team. Since the All-Star Break, the Magic are leading the league in points, 4th in field-goal percentage, tied for 10th in rebounds, 5th in assists, 3rd in turnovers, and tied for 9th in blocks. They’ve also went from losing on average by 1.1 points to winning by an average of 1.6 points. The Magic are surprisingly a team to look out for in the future.
Remember when the Grizzlies were one of the worst team in the NBA this year? Boy how times have changed in the last two months. Since the All-Star break, the Grizzlies lead the league in rebounds and are 10th in assists. Just like the Magic, they’ve also went losing by an average of 1 point to winning by an average of 1.3 points. Also since 2020 started, they’re 19-11.
