Sacramento Kings (21-45) at Denver Nuggets (36-30)

NBA: Sunday March 11th 2018, 5:00 PM @ the Pepsi Center

Prediction: Denver Nuggets -12

Sacramento Kings

The Kings just finished up a five game spread at home 3-2. They were able to beat the Orlando Magic this past Friday night. Head Coach Dave Joerger was able to pick up his 200th win. The Kings never trailed behind the Magic, and were able to stay consistent throughout the game and earn a win. Garrett Temple led with 23 points in the game. Throughout the season, the Kings have struggled offensively. They are 29th in scoring 99.2 points per game and 29th in rebounding with 40.5 boards per game. They are below average defensively. The Kings have a young group of men that have played fairly well during the season. De’Aaron Fox, recently out due to a back strain, averages as a rookie 11.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Buddy Hield adds 12.6 points per game and Skal Labissiere adds 8.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. They are two players that are also on the younger side of the team. The Kings are 20th in field goal percentage, shooting 45.3 percent from the floor.

Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets were on a two-game winning streak until they bounced back with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers at home, 125-116. The Nuggets led in the first quarter and then started to trail behind. In the fourth quarter they were able to outscore the Lakers, leading them to a victory. Jamal Murray led with 22 points and eight assists. Denver is tied for the playoff spot with the Clippers and the Jazz. The Nuggets are 8th in scoring offense with 108.9 points per game. They are 10th in rebounding with 44.1 rebounds per game. Paul Millsap averages 14.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in his first season. He had missed 44 games due to wrist surgery to repair a tendon. He returned back in February. Nikola Jokic averages 17.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and six assists per game. The Nuggets are 9th in field goal percentage, shooting 46.9 percent from the field.

Kings are:

3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up win

2-5 ATS in their last 7 Sunday games

1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference

Nuggets are:

4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record

5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest

17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. NBA Pacific

The Kings don’t have much to play for at this point in the season. They play just to collect wins. They are a pretty good team at home, but on the road they have faced some challenges. Today, they travel to face the Nuggets, who are fighting for that playoff spot. The Nuggets play extremely well at home. The Nuggets look for this win motivated by their playoff hopes to keep up pace with the Clippers and the Jazz.
