The Sacramento Kings are coming off of a one-point thriller, while the Suns are looking to get things turned around at home in what is sure to be a good matchup for both sides.
After a thrilling one-point win against the Pacers, the Kings have now set their sights on the Suns. The Kings started the year off hot and have since had ups and downs, but overall are a good team. They have the seventh best scoring offense in the NBA, averaging just over 114 points per game. Buddy Heild, has been the leader on the offensive side of the ball for the Kings. He is averaging 18.4 points per game. Buddy has been one of the more productive young guys in the league and the Kings should expect good things out of him.
While the Kings have a much better offense this year than previous years their defense has fallen off just a bit. Currently they are ranked 29th in the NBA as an overall unit and have some things to improve upon. Not letting opponents take open shots is a big one. The Kings have struggled around the perimeter this year and could really improve guarding the three-point line. Marvin Bagley and De’Aaron Fox have been the shining light for defensive possessions but need to pick up their game if they hope to make a difference as we head further into the season.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns are in a battle for worst record in the NBA this season. The Suns have not been very good at just about anything this season. Offensively they are ranked 29th in the league for scoring offense with only an average of 103 points per game. Devin Booker has been a star for them, but his efforts have not been enough. Booker is averaging 23.5 per game, but the Suns have to focus on making him a larger part of the offense if they hope to beat the Sacramento Kings.
Defensively the Suns have not been as bad as their offensive woes, but they haven’t been much better. Defensively as a whole the Suns are ranked 25th in the NBA, allowing 113.7 points per game. Leading their defense is Deandre Ayton. The big center for the Kings is averaging over 10 rebounds per game and has been tough to keep away from the boards. The Suns need to focus on keeping people away from the paint. They give up a ton of easy layups and tip ins. If the suns can eliminate some of those throughout the game, it will make their offense’s job a little easier.

The Kings looked really good earlier this season, and from there have since fizzled out a little bit. The Suns have not looked good all year, and they make it really tough to see them as a legitimate threat to the Kings. I think that this game will be a little closer throughout the first three quarters with some separation in the fourth quarter, but all in all I can’t pick against the Kings here. I think the Kings are a good young team, that can cover a 6-point spread. The over for this game is harder to pick considering the Suns offense has had trouble scoring, but life’s too short to take the under.
