The San Antonio Spurs couldn’t hold back the Los Angeles Clippers after taking the lead in the first half on Monday, losing the game 105-108. LaMarcus Aldridge came close to getting a double-double with 27 points and 9 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan was able to earn 26 points on the night, accounting for around 1/4th of the teams’ total points. However, only 3 players on the team shot above 10 points, and that has to change if they want to win games.
The Los Angeles Lakers completely dominated against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, winning the game 129-113. LeBron James earned yet another triple-double on the night with 15 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Anthony Davis played efficiently, earning 21 points with a field goal percentage of 55.6% and hitting all 10 of his free throws. Rajon Rondo came close to another double-double with 13 points and 8 assists.
With how good the San Antonio Spurs are statistically, it’s impressive how often they’ve found ways to lose. To put it into perspective, the Spurs are 9th in points per game, tied for 10th in rebounds per game, 13th in assists per game, and are 8th in blocks per game. Sounds like a great team making the playoffs, right? Despite their high play almost across the board, they still rank 25th in steals per game and are 14th in +/- rating. Also, they have the pristine position of having the 3rd worst away record in the western conference.
It’s plain to see that the Lakers are one of the best teams this year. I don’t have to tell you that. However, the extent to how much they dominate is almost insane. The Lakers are 5th in points per game, tied for 10th in rebounds per game, 6th in assists per game, 4th in steals per game, leads the league in blocks per game, and has the 2nd best +/- rating in the league. The fact that they’re in the top 5 for half of the major categories and the top 10 for 2/3 of the major categories is insane.

The total has gone OVER in 12 of LA Lakers’ last 17 games against San Antonio.
LA Lakers are 6-2 SU in their last 8 games at home.
The Lakers are not losing today. Plain and simple, the Lakers are the better team in every way. Now when it comes to them being 11.5-point favorites today, I can’t see the Spurs just rolling over for the Lakers. It’s going to far closer than that, maybe by 5 points, but the Lakers will win today.
