The Utah Jazz may be a better team than their record indicates, with their biggest problem being not able to win close games. The Jazz last five games have been decided by 10 points or less, with the Jazz winning two of them, they were able to come out on top last game against the Wizards, 107-104. Prior to their win against the Wizards, the Jazz had lost their last two games to Denver and Miami by a combined nine points. Derrick Favors is listed as questionable for tonights game with a sprained right ankle and Rudy Gobert will be out as he continues to rehab a bruised knee. The Jazz have struggle heavily without Gobert in the lineup this season, going just 3-9. Utah has not faired well in Charlotte as of late, losing their last three games at the Spectrum Center, a streak the team will look to end tonight.
The Hornets are coming off a home loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, 115-111. Charlotte has struggled at home this season, going 2-7 since December 6th and an overall record of 10-11 this season. A big part of the Hornets loss on Wednesday night was Dwight Howards struggles from the free throw line, shooting just 5 of 18. The Jazz are unlikely to be able be as aggressive with Howard Friday night due to the teams injuries with big men. Trade rumors surrounding the teams star, Kemba Walker, continue to swirl as the team is struggling and a rebuild seems like the most sensible solution. Walker put up 41-points last game, so his focus is still clearly there, how his teammates respond will be the deciding factor.

Despite the Utah Jazz abysmal road record this season, which is 4-17, I like them in this game and was surprised to see the Hornets as the favorite at -4.5. Charlotte right now is a team that wold benefit from tanking and I think the Jazz can still be a playoff team if they play up to their potential. With that being said, the key to this game for the Jazz will be if they can contain Kemba Walker, as he is still capable of taking over a game when not being held in check.
