In this late-night Western conference matchup, the Utah Jazz will travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns, in an attempt to complete the season sweep against them. Phoenix are coming off a 122-113 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but have just have one win from five. Meanwhile, Utah have won ten of their last eleven, while being on a five-game winning streak. Their latest win came at home versus the Charlotte Hornets, 111-102.

The Utah Jazz are currently fifth in the Western conference, only a half-game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers and two games behind the Portland TrailBlazers and Houston Rockets. In Monday’s win versus the Charlotte Hornets, sophomore sensation Donovan Mitchell led the team in scoring with 25 points on 8/17 shooting, while Rudy Gobert grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds and Ricky Rubio dished out a game-high 13 assists. Gobert, who recently has been on a tear, attained his 62nd double-double, second most in the league. One of the factors that contributed to their current win streak is the ability to share the ball, in which they tallied at least 30 assists four times in their last six games and 23 times overall this season. They will, however, be without Kyle Korver and Derrick Favors once again, which will expand the workload of Mitchell, Rubio, and Gobert. Also, what has been noted in the past is the inability to contain guards, allowing Kemba Walker to score 47 points on Monday, and the last time they matched up with Phoenix, allowing a season-high performance from Devin Booker (59 points). Perimeter defense is an area where Utah will attempt to modify as playoffs are around the corner. Donovan Mitchell leads the Jazz this season with 23.5 PPG on 43.1 FG% while Rudy Gobert leads with 12.9 RPG and Ricky Rubio with 6.2 APG.

The Phoenix Suns come into Wednesday’s game sitting last in the Western conference, and second-to-last in the league, as the team prepares for the upcoming draft, looking at potential stars Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, and Ja Morant. As the Suns attempt to turn the page from a subpar season, even in their standards, the lone bright spot has been Devin Booker. After two straight 50-point games, Booker scored another game-high 25 points on 8/18 shooting, while leading with 13 assists (one short of his career high) against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Josh Jackson, who was active on Monday, led the team with 10 rebounds. It will look like another heavy scoring night for Booker, as Deandre Ayton, Kelly Oubre Jr, and Tyler Johnson are all listed as out. He currently leads the Suns this year with 26.9 PPG on 46.6 FG% and 6.9 APG, while Ayton leads with 10.3 RPG.

With most of Phoenix’s starting lineup absent from tonight’s game, Devin Booker should hit 30-40 points tonight, as Utah also have a problem defending against guards. Utah have been successful against Phenix historically however, winning 13 of their last 14 meetings, while holding the Suns to blow 100 points in 12 of those games. With the intention of playoff seeding on the line for Utah, expect for Gobert and Mitchell to be very much involved in the scoring, while Ricky Rubio gobbles up the assists. This shouldn’t really be a contest by the second half.

Pick: Utah Jazz (-10.5)
