Utah Jazz Betting News

The Utah Jazz are coming off of an impressive 118-91 win against the Houston Rockets.  In order to win on the road against the Spurs, the key factor will be Donovan Mitchell’s performance.  In their last game against the Rockets, Derrick Favors led the team in points and rebounds with 24 and 10, while Ricky Rubio led the teams in assists with six.  Defensively, the Jazz needs to contain DeMar DeRozan, who has been playing significantly well as of late.

San Antonio Spurs Betting News

The San Antonio Spurs are coming off of a 133-120 win against the Los Angeles Lakers.  In order to beat the Jazz, DeMar DeRozan needs to put a similar performance that he had against the Lakers.  In their win against Los Angeles, DeMar DeRozan led the team with 36 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.  If he puts up a near triple-double against the Jazz, the Spurs will win this crucial home victory.

This is a crucial game for both teams who are gaining momentum.  Both the Jazz and the Spurs are in the middle of the Western Conference standings, and a win can improve their (very early) playoff chances.  However, due to DeRozan’s performance against the Lakers, the Spurs will likely win this one in a close fashion. While players like Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert will likely have decent matchups,  DeRozan will be the ultimate factor in this game.

Pick: San Antonio Spurs -110
