The Washington Wizards were beating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first half on Friday, then the second half happened, causing them to lose 108-113. It seems that Bradley Beal and Rui Hachimura were the only players to show up to the game, as they were the only players to score more than 11 points. It didn’t help that they made an abysmal 38.7% of their shots on the night either.
The Chicago Bulls started the game strong against the Phoenix Suns, but couldn’t finish the game strong, and ended up losing 104-112. Coby White is continuing to build on his rookie season win an impressive showing, earning 33 points on the night. However, when the only player to score more than 13 points is Zach LaVine, you’re not going to win too many games.
The Wizards have no problem scoring points and it shows statistically. The Wizards are 6th in points, 10th in assists, and 9th in turnovers. The issue is stopping the other team. Despite how good they are offensively, they still on average lose by 4.2 points. Hopefully they’ll be able to turn it around during the 2nd half of the season.
If the Chicago Bulls could win game by exclusively stealing the ball, they would be the best team in the NBA. Unfortunately for them, you must do more than steal the ball to win an NBA game. While they do lead the league in steals, the Bulls next highest ranking in any major category is 23rd (+/- rating). If anything, it’s impressive how a team can be good at one aspect of basketball and nothing else.

The Wizards may have had a rough start to this second half of the season, somehow managing to lose to the Cavs of all teams, but they won’t lose to the Bulls today. To simply put it, the Bulls have no offense to speak of, so the Wizards should have no problem outscoring them. The Bulls are even ranked lower than the Cavs in points per game. The Wizards will have no problem tonight.
