The struggling Orlando Magic will hit the road Friday night against the erratic Washington Wizards in some NBA action. The Magic have lost six straight and Washington is coming off another horrible home loss against the decrepit Utah Jazz.

The Orlando Magic could really use a win here as they’ve lost 15 of their last 16 games and they will be looking to snap a six-game skid after falling to the Bucks 110-103 road loss on Wednesday night. With Nikola Vucevic out until late February with a hand injury, Orlando has limited options in the paint. At times, Orlando has been a respectable team, a 110-103 loss at Milwaukee on Jan. 10, they were also blown out at home against the Rockets by 18 on January 3rd. In their last game against Dallas Evan Fournier led the way with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Bismack Biyombo and Marreese Speights added 14 points each in the losing effort. Fournier could be back on the trade block, which isn’t surprising when a team has no hope in the present and is trying to thin out the payroll. Fournier is a great shooter, who’s averaging 17.8 points per game on 46.4 percent shooting. Aaron Gordon leads the Magic with 18.9 points per game and 7.9 boards, but went just 4-of-18 from the field against the Bucks, scoring only 11 and grabbing only four boards. The Magic are averaging 104.9 points per game on 45.5 percent shooting.

Wizards continue to baffle me, after winning four straight, the Wizards drop back-to-back games at home. Losing to Milwaukee by seven on Saturday was understandable, but the loss against Utah is unacceptable, especially since Utah was missing Rudy Robert and Derrick Favors. The Wizards were leading at halftime by four but fell apart in third quarter, allowing Utah to drop 37 on them. They were down for most of the fourth before taking a late one point lead. They kept exchanging the lead, then with 1:02 left John Wall hit a three to take the lead, but the Jazz responded with a three from Joe Ingles, who was wide open after Kelly Oubre over compromised on a steal attempt. Down 104-107 with 7.6 seconds left, Brad Beal had a good chance to tie theme on a 3-pointer but couldn’t handle ball correctly with Donovan Mitchell in front of him and never got the shot off. John Wall had a stellar performance scoring 35 points and dishing out 11 dimes, but also had eight turnovers. That was the main problem for the Wizards as they tallied up 23 turnovers. Bradley Beal had 23 points, seven assist and five boards but continues to struggle in later minutes of close games. Shooting was not the issue for the Wiz, who made 52.6 percent from the field and 10-of-25 from three point land.

FREE NBA Prediction Washington Wizards vs. Orlando Magic

The Wizards are in a bit of a funk as they’ve been disappointing in their last two losses, but that doesn’t compare to dumpster fire in the Orlando Magic who just can’t buy a win these days. These two teams last met on dec. 23 and it was the Wizards who blew them out by a score of 130-103. With that being said I have to side with the Wiz, hoping they bounce back into wining form with an easy victory here.

Washington Wizards -10.5
