Oregon State Beavers vs. Arizona Wildcats

#17 Arizona Wildcats(12-4) vs Oregon State Beavers(10-5)

NCAA Basketball: Thursday, January 11, 2018 9:00 PM @Mckale Center

Line: Oregon State Beavers +10 Over/Under:69.5

The Beavers will be traveling to Arizona for another Pac 12 game Thursday night. The Beavers are coming off of a great game against their rival team, Oregon. Tres Tinkle had yet another stellar game putting up 19 points and 12 boards. Tinkle is averaging 18.3 points per game. The Beavers shot 55% from the field and 46.2% from the 3 point line, as they are scoring 107 points per possession. They also are ranked 6th in the NCAA for free throw shooting at 44.7%. Behind Tinkle is Stephen Thompson Jr. averaging 16.5. The Beavers are a great offensive team and really push the tempo on offense. They also shoot the ball very well.

Sean Miller had a few words for his team in an interview. Miller complained that he cant get his team to play hard after their disappointing loss to Colorado. The Wildcats are 2-1 so far in the Pac 12. Last game Deandre Ayton scored 26 points while Rawle Alkins had 16. Like the Beavers, the Wildcats are strong on the offensive end with their dynamic guards. Ayton is leading the team scoring averaging 20 points and Alkins is right behind him with 19 points per game. The Wildcats are letting their opponents score 99 points per 100 possessions which is where Miller has a problem. Arizona’s biggest issue is that they are a weak defensive team. Against good scoring teams, they will continue to have trouble unless they start defending.

This will be a good matchup and both teams play similarly to each other. Watching Alkins and Ayton take on Tinkle and Thompson will be exciting. Although Arizona is a ranked team and has been statistically putting up better numbers I think the Beavers are hungry and on a mission.
