Draftking NCAA Basketball Pick Kentucky Wildcats vs Alabama Crimson Tide
The Post Season has arrived! We are just two days from Selection Sunday and we still have so much more basketball to consume before then. Alabama was able to hold off Ole Miss in the second round of the SEC Tournament last night. The Kentucky Wildcats are apparently fresh and Reid Travis is coming back after missing two weeks of basketball.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are coming in as the 7-seed in the SEC Tournament. They took down Ole Miss with a final score of 62-57. The upset set them up for a date with the Kentucky Wildcats for Saturday night.
Kira Lewis Jr has been on a tear all season. Averaging 13.9PPG while dishing out almost 3APG. Alongside Lewis Jr, is big man Donta Hall. Hall has almost averaged a double-double this season, putting up 10.5 points and 8.8 rebounds a game to go along with 1.7 blocks a game. Donta Hall has also hit his only three-point attempt this season. The Crimson Tide are averaging 72.31 points a game while shooting 44.51% from the field, 33.88% from three, and they pull down an average of 37.75 rebounds a game. Those averages are good for 140th, 134th, 163rd, and 50th in the nation respectively. They have only beaten Kentucky once in the last ten tries, which occurred earlier this season in Tuscaloosa. KenPom has Alabama rated 60th overall with the 83rd best offense and 62nd best defense. They will need a really good game like their previous matchup against the Cats to move on to the Semifinal on Saturday.
The Kentucky Wildcats limped a bit at the end of the regular season. Without senior Reid Travis, it seemed the Cat’s rhythm was thrown off without their anchor. Now that Reid Travis is coming back for the SEC Tournament, they should return to the same team that took down Tennessee by double digits. Look out for the Wildcats to be firing on all cylinders.
The leaders for the Wildcats are the same ones that have been leading the charge all season. PJ Washington was selected 1st-Team All-SEC for averaging 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson split the SEC Freshman Awards, both averaging over 13 points per game and 4 rebounds. This team has come together, and now Immanuel Quickley is playing very well off the bench. The Kentucky Wildcats are averaging 76.81 points a game, shooting 47.73% from the field, 35.89% from three, and 38.52 rebounds a game. Those averages are all better than Alabama’s. They rank 58th, 23rd, 80th, and 27th in the nation respectively. KenPom has Kentucky rated 9th overall. They boast the 13th best offense and 8th best defense in the country respectively. They are a much better team than they were when they lost to Alabama in January and will look to get revenge for that loss.

FanDuel NCAA Basketball Pick 2-Seed Kentucky Wildcats vs 10-Seed Alabama Crimson Tide
These teams have only seen each other once this season. They have both had very different seasons, Alabama is probably going to the NIT while the Wildcats are fighting for a 1-Seed in the NCAA Tournament. The return of Reid Travis is going to be huge for the Wildcats and they will look to get him playing time without overplaying him. PJ Washington has to continue his dominant play, and with Travis back I think that he will. The Cats get it done in Nashville and go on to (probably) play Tennessee for their rubber match.
