The Texas A&M Aggies are undefeated so far in this young NCAA Basketball season, and will look to go 8-0 on Tuesday evening. The team is averaging 82.3 points on 49.2 percent from the field, and are allowing significantly less impressive stats from opponents with 65.1 points on 36.1 percent shooting. DJ Hogg is averaging just under 17 points to go along with 3.1 assists, and Tyler Davis is contributing 13.6 points and 8 boards on average. Admon Gilder is also in double digits, and Duane Wilson is distributing well with 4.4 assists per contest. The Aggies are shooting an impressive 40.6 percent from beyond the arc, and allowing opponents to just 22.5 percent from this same mark. From the free throw line, Texas A&M is shooting 73.9 percent and is grabbing 43.9 rebounds per game. Dating back to last season, the team has gone 3-3 in their las six games at neutral sites.
The Arizona Wildcats have been through a rough patch and look to bring their record to 6-3 against an undefeated team. The team has been phenomenal on offense, shooting 52.2 percent from the field and netting 85.6 points per game. Defensively, they are allowing 74.1 points on 43.8 percent from the field. Allonzo Trier leads the team with 23.9 points per contest to go along with 2.6 assists. Deandre Ayton isn’t far behind, averaging 20.4 points along with an impressive 11.4 rebounds. Dusan Ristic is adding to the rebound category with 5.9 per game, and Parker Jackson-Cartwright is passing the ball well with 5.3 assists per game. The Wildcats are at a 37.7 percent clip from the three and 74.9 percent from the line. They are allowing a similar 35.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 37.4 rebounds per game. Arizona has been winless in their last four neutral site games.
FREE CBB PREDICTION ARIZONA VS. TEXAS A&M
It is always a tough task to 1) analyze an undefeated team’s chances of keeping their streak going and 2) try to figure out exactly when this streak is going to come to an end. Truthfully, there aren’t enough mathematics, statistics, or anything else for anyone to predict with 100% certainty that this 7-0 college basketball team is going to lose for the first time this season. That being said, although I do think Arizona has a good chance to upset them, I don’t think right now is their time. Things have been pretty shaky for the Wildcats, and despite a very talented team and monstrous offensive numbers of 85.6(!!!) points per game on over 50 percent shooting, their defense has been less impressive to say the least. On the other hand, the Aggies are scoring almost as many points on just under 50 percent from the field, which isn’t too far off from the Wildcats, but the difference lies in the defense. The “defference”, one could say. All jokes aside, there is nothing funny about holding a team to 36.1 shooting, but the numbers don’t lie and that’s what Texas A&M has been able to do this season. Although an upset and therefore the end of a streak is possible, I think the Aggies have enough in them to hold off a talented but slightly struggling Arizona team. I’ll take Texas A&M here in a neutral location to keep their streak alive.
