Seton Hall Pirates (6-0) vs. Louisville Cardinals (6-0)

Sunday, December, 3rd 2017 @ 4:00 pm in KFC Yum! Center on ESPN 2

Line & Odds: Louisville -2.5 Over/Under: 145

The Louisville Cardinals and the Seton Hall Pirates clash in the BILLY MINARDI CLASSIC at the KFC Yum! Center on ESPN 2 in a battle of the Big East and the ACC where both teams have something to prove.

The Seton Hall Pirates are coming off a defining win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders winning 89-79 in the UNDER ARMOUR REUNION. The Pirates are having a solid season thus far, only losing one of their first seven games. Seton Hall is led by two players who show real potential to be NBA talent next year. The Pirates big man Angel Delgado is a double-double machine; he is best known for averaging 8.7 rebounds per game and establishing himself in the paint. He is developing into a productive mid-range jumper and is effective anywhere within 15 ft. The senior from the Dominican Republic is the team’s motivational leader and their leader in the locker room. The Pirates also have one of the best scorers in college basketball in Desi Rodriguez. The senior leads the team in made 3-point shots and overall shot production, he averages 18.7 points per game and is known for his performance in clutch situations. Rodriguez against Texas Tech scored 24 points,  had seven rebounds, and had four assists. He will be vital in this game against Louisville, who has few good players of their own.

The Louisville Cardinals are coming off a loss to the Purdue Boilermakers losing 57 – 66 in the BIG TEN/ACC CHALLENGE. Louisville is led by wing Deng Adel, who is scoring 16.6 points per game and averages 5.2 rebounds per game. The Two more guys that will help the Cardinals stay relevant this season is 6-10 Ray Spalding and 7-0 Anas Mahmoud, they both lead the team in rebounds thus far and are expected to be significant in the frontcourt this season. Spalding is second on the team in scoring and is one of the best forwards in the ACC. The only thing that will hold the Louisville Cardinals back is their lack of firepower, in this new climate of three-point shooters, they will be forced to rely on Adel and Spalding to put up as many points as the other team does.

Pirates vs. Cardinals

Seton Hall is 2-8 vs. Louisville in their last then meetings

Seton Hall is 3-4 ATS this season

Louisville is 2-3 ATS this season

Both teams are 5/5 in the Over/Under

Louisville had trouble with the big men of Purdue, and they do not compare with Angel Delgado, who will be one of the top lottery drafts picks next year. Louisville averages 77 points per game and Seton Hall Average 83 points per game. Seton Hall also has not done well against Louisville in the past; however, this is not the same Pirate team. Even though both teams are below .500 against the spread, Seton Hall has the defense to shut teams down. Look for the Seton Hall Pirates to cover the spread and hand the Louisville Cardinals their second loss this season in the BILLY MINARDI CLASSIC.

Special thanks to @thomasmchen & @SHUAthletics for giving us access to @SetonHallMBB this season! Until next year! ⚪️🔵⚓️

Stay tuned for the final @SetonHallMBB recap from @eswint22 on @SetonianSports. She stepped into the Sports Editor role as a sophomore and acted like she had been in it for years. Teaches me so much, and always puts in the extra effort to make sure things are done right.

S/O to our alum @kcarrington11 on four great years with @SetonHallMBB. He will definitely missed. Every time he stepped on that court at the @PruCenter, he would always put on a show! Thank you, Deeno!

Angel Delgado gets double doubles just to stay in shape! @SetonHallMBB

Great performance today by @angelluis45! He will definitely be missed at @SetonHallMBB. Story on him coming 🔜!
