Harvard vs. Northeastern

Harvard (3-4) vs. Northeastern (2-4)

Free NCAA Basketball Game: Thursday November 30th, 7:00 PM @ Matthews Arena

Spread: Harvard +1.5, Northeastern -1.5

Over/Under: 140.5

Harvard is 3-4 on this short season and 0-3 on the road. This is a Harvard program who has been in the NCAA Tournament in recent years, is not off to a great start. With a record of 1-4 in their last 5, they haven’t scored over 71 points in that span. This season, Harvard is averaging 70 points a game, and are giving up 72.4 to their opponents. Bryce Aiken is Harvard’s leading scorer, averaging 18 points per game. Aiken is also leading the Crimson with 3.9 assists per game.

Northeastern is 2-4 this season and have lost 4 straight. This team is 1-0 at home this season. Northeastern is not a team that many people have heard before, unless you went there. This team is averaging 66 points per game and giving up 68.3. This is very comparable to Harvard, not great offense and not great defense. Meaning that these numbers are based off of their competition. Northeastern’s leading scorer is Vasa Pusica who is averaging 12.5 points per game. Pusica is also leading the team in assists with 3.2 per game. Both Northeastern and Harvard are playing slower styles of basketball compared to a team like Florida, who is averaging close to 100 points per game.

Harvard is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games

The Crimson are 1-5 SU in its last 6 games on the road

Harvard is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Northeastern

Northeastern is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games

Northeastern is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Harvard

To my surprise, Northeastern is the favorite in this game. But, I like Harvard. I think that Harvard’s offense is a tad bit better than Northeastern. A 1.5 spread is not huge by any means, its not exactly a pick-em but its close. Take Harvard and hopefully Bryce Aiken continues to score the way he has been all season.
