Oklahoma Sooners:

After two losses going into today’s game, the Oklahoma Sooners are looking for a win today. They currently still hold the top spot as the highest scoring team and they do not want to lose that. The Sooners started this season strong and even though their recent game against the West Virginia Mountaineers ended in a loss of 75-73. They fought for the game but came a few points short of the win. Point Guard and freshman Trae Young showed off his skills despite the lost scoring 32 points on his own. Young has been known for his shooting percentage being known to be able to make a shot with little to no space. He is going to make it hard for anyone to block his shots during the game this afternoon. As long as he goes into this game with a focused and determined mindset, the Sooners will have no problem taking a win home.

Iowa State Cyclones:

The Iowa State Cyclones have had a rocky season thus far and going into this game with two back to back losses as well. Unlike the Sooners, their losses are not as close in score.  Their last game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders was a devastating blow out at 58-76. Head coach Steve Prohm made a mistake relying mostly on his star freshman players who could not maintain their stamina. Power forward Cameron Lard ran out and foul and started to get a little sloppy fouling out of the game with 3:50 left in the game. He has shown everyone that he is a better player than what was displayed during this game. He is a great defensive player and is a beast when it comes to blocking shots. Prohm has put a lot of energy into Lard’s growth and progress this season.

This is going to be an intense game between Young and Lard. Young knows how to land a shot and Prohm’s defense is his strongest skill. I hope that the two coaches and teams are not focused on just these two battling it out on the court. The Sooners has the ability to score a vast amount of points this game and they just have to focus on having a consistent defense. The Cyclones have to work on their defense as well. Oklahoma is coming to eat at 2:00 pm and I hope Iowa is as well.
