The St. Mary’s Gaels currently have the nation’s longest win streak, having won 19 games in a row. They currently are in first place in the West Coast Conference standings with a 13-0 conference record. Their last lost came all the way back in November of 2017 when they fell short to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Gaels have already beaten Gonzaga once this season and will be looking for the season sweep tonight. It is likely these two opponents will face each other again in the WCC tournament finals, so the Gaels need to prove they are the new dominant team in the conference. The Gaels will need to focus on winning the glass tonight, as they are only averaging 33.3 rebounds per game as a team. This ranks 288th in the nation and must be improved if the Gaels plan to continue winning.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have managed to win their last six after losing a nail bitter the first time they played the Gaels. They will now travel to a hostile environment to try and split the season series with St. Mary’s. Senior, Johnathan Williams is leading the Bulldogs thus year and is averaging 13.5 points per game. The Bulldogs have been very efficient this year on the offensive end and are currently ranked 5th in the NCAA in scoring per game with an average of 86.0. They also crash the boards very well and average 40.4 rebounds per game, which ranks 13th in the country. Gonzaga is most likely going to get a bid to the tournament no matter what the result of this game is, but they will be trying to create a tie for first place in the conference with a win tonight.
