Wisconsin Badgers vs. Temple Owls

Temple Owls (4-2) vs Wisconsin Badgers (4-5)

College Basketball: Wednesday December 6th, 2017, 7:00 PM ET | Liacouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Line: Temple Owls -4.5

Over/Under: 135.5

The Temple Owls will play their first true home game when the Wisconsin Badgers visit them tonight. Temple lost their last game to George Washington Colonials by a score of 71-67, so they will be looking to bounce back and earn their fifth win. They also need to prepare for their conference play, so a test from a Big Ten opponent will help them be ready for the American conference. Despite the loss, Quinton Rose played very well for the Owls and the team with 20 points and shot 8 of 13. However, the Owl defense was unable to slow down the Colonials and allowed them to shoot 60% from the field and 56.3% from behind the arc. The Owls did force a lot of turnovers, which kept them in the game, but their poor defending was the ultimate reason why they lost the game. In order to win tonight they will need their home crowd to help bring energy to the game and they must play better defense to not allow their opponent to shoot as well as the Colonials did.

The Wisconsin Badgers won their first conference game when they beat the Penn State Nitttany Lions last time they were on the court. They will continue their road trip tonight in the state of Pennsylvania when they play a non-conference game against the Temple Owls. The Badgers have really struggled this year and already have five losses. However, four of their five losses are to top 25 teams, so they are playing a tough schedule. Against Penn State, Khalil Iverson led the Badgers with 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting. The Badgers are definitely not the team they were a couple of years ago when they were in the championship game, but as the season goes on they are sure to improve and can still be considered a possible tournament team in March as long as they can start to win some games. In order to win and get back to a .500 record the Badgers will need to play similar defense like they did vs the Nittany Lions. They held Penn State to 35.7% from the field, as well as, 14.3% from three point range which helped them to that close win.

Temple Owls

(4-2) SU this season

(4-2) ATS this season

Wisconsin Badgers

(4-5) SU this season

(3-5) ATS this season

Despite the Badgers struggles this year, they still have good players and should not be taken lightly in this match-up. I think the Badgers will find a way to keep this game all the way throughout and I do believe they could steal this one despite being on the road. I am going to pick the Wisconsin Badgers and the points to cover the spread and to get back to playing how fans except them to play.
