Seton Hall Pirates (5-1) vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-0)

Thursday, November 30th, 2017 @ 6:30 pm in Madison Square Garden on FS1

Line & Odds: Texas Tech -1 Over/Under: 139

Moneyline: Texas Tech -120 / Seton Hall +100

The Seton Hall Pirates clash against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Under Armour Reunion at Madison Square Garden.

The Seton Hall Pirates have got off to a 5-1 start only losing to Rhode Island in a last minute buzzer beater. Seton Hall is led by their star power and their leadership. The Pirates big man Angel Delgado is a double-double machine; he is best known for averaging 9.3 rebounds per game and establishing himself in the paint. Overall he is developing into a great mid-range jumper and is effective anywhere within 15 ft. The senior from the Dominican Republic is the team’s motivational leader and their leader in the locker room. The Pirates also have one of the best scorers in college basketball in Desi Rodriguez. The senior small forward leads the team in made 3-point shots and overall shot production, he averages 17.8 points per game and is known for his performance in clutch situations. The main weakness for Seton Hall is that they have gotten off to slow starts in almost every game this season with only having one lead going into halftime. These slow starts will hurt them against strong opponents like the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have gotten off to a stellar start winning all six of their games the season. They are ranked 17 in AP college basketball power rankings and are one of the better teams in the Big 12. Texas Tech has already beaten a top 20 team in Northwestern blowing them out 85-45. The Texas Tech Red Raiders are led by Keenan Evans who leads the team in scoring with an average of 15 points per game. The senior from Richardson Texas will be the focal point for the Red Raiders success this season; he has already shown that he can perform in big games scoring 25 points against Northwestern and 29 points against Boston College. Another player that will be big for the Red Raiders this season will be Zack Smith who leads the team in rebounds. The 6′-8″ forward from Plano Texas has 30 rebounds this season and is crucial to the Red Raiders success. What makes Texas Tech so formidable is their depth and ability to score off the bench. Overall the Texas Tech Red Raiders are going to be a team fighting for the Big 12 championship and will be a formidable force this.

Pirates vs. Raiders

Texas Tech is 1-0 against Seton Hall all time

Texas Tech is 3-1 ATS this season

Seton Hall is 2-4 ATS this season

Texas Tech has been Under the Total in every game this season

The Seton Hall Pirates have been getting off too bad starts in games this season and have been terrible against the spread thus far. Add on to the fact that the Texas Tech Red Raiders have not lost this season leads one to believe that this game is going to end up being a one-sided affair. I think Keenan Evans and Jarrett Culver will take advantage of the pirate’s slow start and maintain a solid lead for the whole game. I look for the Texas Tech Raiders to cover the spread and defeat the Seton Hall Pirates in Madison Square Garden.

 Pick: Texas Tech -1

Special thanks to @thomasmchen & @SHUAthletics for giving us access to @SetonHallMBB this season! Until next year! ⚪️🔵⚓️

Stay tuned for the final @SetonHallMBB recap from @eswint22 on @SetonianSports. She stepped into the Sports Editor role as a sophomore and acted like she had been in it for years. Teaches me so much, and always puts in the extra effort to make sure things are done right.

S/O to our alum @kcarrington11 on four great years with @SetonHallMBB. He will definitely missed. Every time he stepped on that court at the @PruCenter, he would always put on a show! Thank you, Deeno!
