Kent State vs. Xavier

Kent State Golden Flashes (5-3, 1-0 away) vs. Xavier Musketeers (7-1, 5-0 home)

Thursday, December, 6th 2017 @ 7:00 pm in Cintas Center on FS1

Line & Odds:Xavier -23 Over/Under: 155

The Kent State golden flashes make their way to Cincinnati Ohio to take on the Xavier Musketeers in the Cintas Center.

The Kent State golden flashes have been one of the better Mac teams this season. They have been average in scoring, averaging 78.1 points per game and have been mediocre in points allowed only allowing 68 points per game which is tied for 100th in college basketball. The only statistical category that Kent State has excelled at is rebounds per game averaging 39.3 which is tied for 77th. The Kent State golden flashes are led by Jalen Walker who averages 17.7 points per game, the Junior from Detroit Michigan also averages 2.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Overall Kent State is a solid Mac team; however, they do not match up to the talent of a team like Xavier.

The Xavier Musketeers are ranked No. 13 in the AP college basketball rankings and are one of the top scoring teams in college basketball. The Musketeers average 89 points per game which is 18th in all of college basketball. They do this by moving the ball around and being productive on both ends of the Court. Xavier is tied for 27th and assists per game and is tied for 86 in rebounds per game. The Xavier Musketeers offense is led by Trevon Bluiett, he leads the team in scoring and averages the most time on the court with an average of 32.6 minutes per game. The 6-6 point guard from Indianapolis is a national Player of the Year candidate. He is third in the Big East in field goals per game and is second in the team and rebounding. The Musketeers also have experience, all of their starting players are upperclassmen, and all of them have started before this season. Xavier also has a solid shooting guard in J.P. Macura, averages 13.6 points per game and has 4.9 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. Overall the Xavier Musketeers have not lost a non-conference home game in 35 straight games, and I don’t think that will change this game.

Xavier vs. Kent State

Xavier is 7-1 ATS this season and Kent State is 2-2 ATS this season

Xavier is 6-1 as the Favorite and Kent State is 0-2 as the Underdog

Xavier is 6-0 ATS at home and Kent State is 1-2 ATS on the road

Both Teams are a combined 7/5 for the Total Over/ Under

This game is going to be a one-sided affair, Xavier is the hardest team that can state will face all season, and they are facing an uphill battle. When Vegas Gifts such a grand spread of -23, usually I would say not bet the spread because it is such a wide margin, however, Xavier is known for blowing out teams lesser than them. The Musketeers are playing like one of the top teams in basketball, and  I don’t see how they could falter in this game. Look for the Xavier Musketeers to cover the 23 point spread and dismantle the Kent State golden flashes in the Cintas Center.

 Pick: Xavier Musketeers -23

Jeff Robinson should be banned from all @XavierMBB activities for the rest of his life 😂😂😂😂 @sash19xu

If there are any @XavierMBB fans in need of an offseason fix, @slrussell did a Q&A this week with readers and caught up Muskie great Romain Sato.
