Welcome to the Southeastern Conference Championship between SEC West Alabama Crimson Tide and the SEC East Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will have home field advantage as this game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is the home of the Atlanta Falcons. Georgia needs any extra help they can get, as Alabama is once again college footballs powerhouse team. The Crimson Tide are a perfect 8-0 in conference play and have absolutely rolled every team they have played this year. Alabama barely beat Georgia in last years College Football Title game, but this time around, the Crimson Tide shouldn’t need overtime to get by the Bulldogs. The Georgia Bulldogs have also taken big bites out of every opponent this year. The only loss they had was a 36-16 road loss to tough LSU. Georgia responded from the loss with solid victories against ranked Florida and Kentucky. The Bulldogs will take this confidence into Saturday’s game and look for revenge against Alabama. Who knows, this could be the preview for this years college football title game. Saturday’s quarterbacks are Tua Tagovailoa vs Jake Fromm.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have been the number one team all season and they will most likely finish the year hoisting the championship trophy. Alabama is trying to win their sixth national title in ten years. However before they can do that, the Crimson Tide will need to again take the dog bone away from the Georgia Bulldogs. Last time these teams met it was for football glory and Alabama needed a fourth quarter comeback just to get it to overtime, before winning the extra time shootout of scoring. The Crimson Tide get a little better each year and it has truly shown this season. The Roll Tide have beaten most of their opponents by at least 30 plus points and haven’t really been in a close game. Also, the defense has been incredible by just giving up 14 points or less in seven games and they even shut out ranked LSU and Michigan State. This team has played amazing all season and their last game is an example of it. Tua Tagovailoa went 25/32, with 324 passing yards and five touchdown passes. The Roll Tide started slow in the final regular season game of the year, but slowly poured it on and beat Auburn 52-21. Alabama will be ready for Georgia and try to roll over another opponent.
The Georgia Bulldogs almost beat the mighty Crimson Tide in last years Championship Game. Bulldogs had all the momentum, a 13-0 lead at the half, and it all went away in the blink of an eye. Georgia needs a good effort in this game if they want to be selected for the college football playoff. A win gets them in for sure and depending on how they lose, will determine if they are on the outside looking in. Now looking at Georgia’s season as a whole, they have scored mostly 34 plus points a game and had numerous amounts of big, double digit wins. In their last few games, the Bulldogs have piled up the points early and put the games out of reach by halftime. They won’t be doing that against Alabama, but they will be able to get some points on the board in the first half. The Bulldogs need to put up the numbers that they did in last weeks game against Georgia Tech. Jake Fromm went 13/16, for 175 yards, and four touchdown passes. What stands out in Fromms statistics is how quick he can get the ball up the field with just a few passes in a game. Also D’Andre Swift will have to rush for over 100 yards. He almost ran for 200 a week or two ago and they need his production early in this game. It will get the crowd going and the Bulldogs will use the hype to play perfect football. Georgia has had some good first half’s on defense this season and maybe they can build a lead at the half again, but this time they will hang on for the upset win. They enough star power to match this Alabama team, but will it be enough?
