After a tough start to the season, Arizona has rebounded nicely and have won three of their past four games. The Wildcats are led by star quarterback Khalil Tate. Entering this season, Tate was thought to be someone who would be right in the middle of the Heisman conversation. However, that has not happened. Tate has throw for 11 touchdowns with four interceptions and a completion percentage of 54%. On the ground, Arizona has J.J. Taylor. Taylor is the lead back for the Wildcats and so far this season he has rushed for 600 yards and three touchdowns. His biggest game came against Oregon State when he rushed for 284 yards and two touchdowns. The way to beat Arizona is on the ground. Arizona’s run defense has struggled this season, ranking 106th in the nation giving up 197.3 yards per game.
In conference play this season Utah is off to a 1-2 start but they are coming off a dominating victory over Stanford. They traveled to Stanford last week and won 40-21. Quarterback Tyler Huntley threw for 199 yards and a touchdown while completing 17 of 21 passes. On the ground, running back Zack Moss rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Entering this game, Utah has one of the best defenses in the country when it comes to points per game and rushing. They are only allowing 17.2 points per game which ranks 18th in the country. Against they rush they rank third in the country, allowing just 75.4 rush yards per game.

As previously mentioned, Utah has one of the best rush defenses in the country. If you are going to beat them you will have to do it throwing the ball. And that’s perfectly fine with Arizona and Khalil Tate. Tate is an extremely talented quarterback and has the ability to have a great game any week. However, my one concern is that Arizona won’t be able to run the ball successfully which could lead to too many throws from Tate which could lead to turnovers. Utah comes into this game riding high off a big win over Stanford last week. Earlier this season at home, they hung tough with Washington, losing just 21-7. Being at home should help the Utes a lot in this game. Even with being home, the line just seems to be a little too much for me. Arizona is a talented football team who I believe can keep things close in this one. I think Utah wins the game, but Arizona will keep it close.
