Georgia Bulldogs vs Oklahoma Sooners

NCAAF: Monday, January 1st, 2018, 5:00 PM ET at Rose Bowl

Spread: Oklahoma +2.5

Over/Under: 61.5

The Georgia Bulldogs are 11-1 on the season, 8-1 in the SEC. Their last win came in the SEC championship game in which the Bulldogs took down Auburn 28-7 in a stunning game. At quarterback, Jake Fromm leads the team 2173 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just five interceptions on the season. At running back, Nick Chubb has 1175 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. At receiver, Javon Wims leads the team with 631 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Their offense averages 433 yards and 35 points per game. On defense, they allow 270 yards and 13 points per game. Georgia’s defense will have to come up big in this game in order to stop the best offense in college football. They will need to rush Baker Mayfield, reducing big play opportunities.

The Oklahoma Sooners are the best offense in college football and will be hard to stop in this matchup. The team is 12-1 on the season, 8-1 in Big 12 play. The team had a dominant win in the last one, 41-17 over TCU in the Big 12 championship game. At quarterback, the Heisman winner, Baker Mayfield has had a very impressive season. Mayfield has 4340 yards, 41 touchdowns, and just five interceptions on the season. At running back, Rodney Anderson leads the team with 960 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. At receiver, Marquise Brown leads the team with 981 yards and six touchdowns on the season. The team’s offense is averaging 583 yards and 45 points per game. On defense, they are allowing 384 yards and 25 points per game. Baker Mayfield will need to overcome an apparent illness leading into tonight’s game. The team’s offense will also need to put up a lot of points in this game to overcome a great Georgia defense.

Georgia is 10-4 ATS in its last 14 games

Georgia is 13-1 SU in its last 14 games

Oklahoma is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games

Oklahoma is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Oklahoma’s last 6 games

The Georgia Bulldogs defense and the Oklahoma Sooners offense will face off in a huge game to see who will make it to a National Championship. Baker Mayfield will have to overcome obstacles regarding sickness, as well as Georgia’s impressive defense. Both defenses are impressive and that is why I believe that the defenses will dominate this game. The over/under is 61.5 and I would take the under. The reason for this is because it is harder to make big plays in big-time games. Based on the defensive proficiencies of both teams, I predict the under to hit.

That give us a huge insight to how the mental make up was and now is going to be. I was always wondering why they donโ€™t celebrate after making plays. Man that builds competition and confidence!! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ@OU_Football #OUDNA

I know the #UGA offense played poorly. I get that. But...

With 12:20 left in the game when #LSU went on a 6-play, 86-yard march, UGA actually had a slight advantage in time of possession and had just had the ball approx. 11 of last 17-18 minutes.

Defense struggled, too...

Interesting: Iโ€™m told that power went out for 2-3 hours this morning at the #UGA hotel in Baton Rouge. Not the whole hotel, primarily just UGAโ€™s block of rooms...
