NCAA CFB FUTURE WIN TOTALS OVER/UNDER LOUISVILLE CARDINALS

The Louisville Cardinals had a solid year last year as they went 9-4 and made it to the the Citrus Bowl. Unfortunately they faced a red hot LSU team and ended up losing the game 29-9. The good news is that they did it all on the shoulders of Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson who returns for his Sophomore season. Currently, the Cardinals are ranked 12 in the nation in the early polls but I foresee an early jump to the top as the season gets underway. We will just have to sit back and wait a bit.

LOUISVILLE CARDINALS 9 WINS OVER/UNDER: OVER

The ACC is turning into one of the toughest conferences in NCAA Football and Louisville, who was led by Freshman phenom Lamar Jackson last year, went 7-1. With one more year under his belt, Jackson is poised for another stellar season with a huge possibility of a back to back Heisman trophy. The Cardinals start off the season facing North Carolina and Clemson in 2 of their first 3 games. Other than that, the only other really tough match up will come on October 21 when they head to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida State Seminoles. Granted Conference games are always tough but the Cardinals should be able to handle the rest of the schedule.

If there is anything negative to discuss about the Louisville Cardinals, it is the fact that a few of their play makers from last year are gone. Running back Brandon Radcliff and wide receivers James Quick and Jamari Staples left a few gaping holes in the offense with their departures. Bobby Petrino has already said they are looking to go running back by committee which will take time to see if any of them emerge as a lead back. Four star running back Colin Wilson is one recruit we are all excited to see. Word is he is the back to watch in the backfield. Also Junior WR Jaylen Smith should fit in nicely as he averaged 22.2 yards per catch last season.

Lastly, the Louisville Defense experienced a few off season changes. Most notably is the loss of their Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham who left to Mississippi State. At the same time, Peter Sirmon, the DC from Mississippi State left them to take over the Louisville defense. The Cardinals also landed 4-star safety CJ Avery who will make an immediate impact as soon as he steps on the field.

Outlook: While there were a few losses on both offense and defense, any team that has a leader and play maker like Lamar Jackson at the helm is bound to have a good season. We all know he can run but he has a great arm as well. I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Louisville Cardinals will win 10 games. The only two games I see them having to fight out a win is going to be against Clemson and FSU. Clemson, I can see them taking because they will be home and the loss of Deshaun Watson will hit them harder than they think. However, FSU is going to be a tough one. Nonetheless, it should be an amazing year for Cardinals fans!
