Atlanta Falcons

After a 24-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in September, the Falcons find themselves on a three-game losing streak. The Falcons stand 1-4 as they are on the road. In Week 6, they have the Arizona Cardinals.

In last week’s game, the Falcons lost to the Houston Texans in a blowout loss. The Texans beat the Falcons 53-32. After losses to the Colts and Titans, the streak continues.

Against the Texans, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 32 of 46 passes for 330 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He could potentially reach his first 5,000-yard season, as he currently has 1,655 yards. Ryan was solid in this game, but the Falcons were not able to pull off the win.

On defense, the Falcons gave up 592 yards of total offense, despite a decent first half. In the first half, Atlanta forced two fumbles, however, neither were recovered.

The Falcons actually led this game at halftime but could not hold onto it in the second half. They lead by 17-16 at the half, then the Texans took over. Their lead at halftime was noteworthy, as it was the first time they’ve held a (halftime) lead over a team since their win over the Eagles. Now, the Falcons are headed to State Farm Stadium to face the Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are fresh off their first win of the season, as they beat the (winless) Cincinnati Bengals 26-23. This win gives the Cardinals a record of 1-3-1, due to a tie against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. After losses to teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, the Carolina Panthers and the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals have a win on the board.

In this game, Kyler Murray threw for 253 yards, as he had zero touchdowns or interceptions. This game marks his first career win.

As the Cardinals looked like they had their win in the bag, they blew their lead, and it was Murray who helped secure the win. He threw a 24-yard pass to David Johnson, as well as a 24-yard scramble. His scramble helped set up the game-winning field goal. Zane Gonzalez’s 31-yard field goal was the icing on the cake.

The Cardinals had 266 total rushing yards, which is the most for them since 2011. Their rushing came from Murray (who had 93), David Johnson (91 yards), Chase Edmonds (68 yards), Andy Isabella (11 yards) and KeeSean Johnson (3 yards). Overall, the Cardinals did enough to get the win, and they did just that.

While a win over the Bengals is nothing significant, Arizona still has a win. Murray did what he had to do and set up his team for the win. As they come home for their upcoming game against the Falcons. The Falcons want to bounce back from their loss against the Texans, but the Cardinals want to keep their momentum going. With that being said, the Cardinals should beat the Falcons

Pick: Cardinals +2.5
