We have an AFC East division matchup with the Buffalo Bills visiting the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. Both teams will be fighting for a win to turn their seasons around so this should get interesting.

The Miami Dolphins are coming off a tough 24-27 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Dolphins offense saw a dramatic improvement with QB Ryan Tannehill coming back from an injury, and it was like he never left. They even broke a 20 game streak of failing to score on an opening drive, which was the longest active streak at the time. Tannehill threw for 204 yds on 68% completion to go with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The running game and defense were solid as well with RB’s Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake sharing the spotlight while CB Xavien Howard caught two interceptions on the day, that makes it five interceptions for the season. Unfortunately, when it came down to it in the fourth quarter the Dolphins just couldn’t seem to get anything going offensively or defensively. Granted they were taking on a hot team in their home field, but when you’re that close you need to make the right decisions to put yourself in the best position to win the game, and the Dolphins didn’t do that. The good news is that Tannehill is back and playing well. It’ll be important to see if he can follow it up with another solid game against the Bills. However, now under .500 and tough games on the horizon, the Dolphins playoff hopes aren’t looking so good.

The Buffalo Bills have had a tough season, but have turned things around slightly, winning two straight games against the Jets on the road and the Jaguars at home. Things haven’t looked good for the offense this season as they rank at the bottom of nearly every stat other then rushing yards, which they are still below average. Rookie QB Josh Allen hasn’t had the most memorable season, but he did have a solid outing against Jacksonville last week throwing for 160 yds on 42.1% completion, one touchdown and no interceptions. What made the night special was that he added 99 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown as well, showing he can affect the game in multiple ways. If he is able to gain confidence in his throwing again then the Bills could have something special there. Overall, this Bills offense has had a rough year as no one has stepped up. One thing they definitely have going for them is their defense, which is one of the more underrated units in the league. They are the best in the league at defending against the pass as they allow just 193.7 passing yards per game (1st in NFL). They are also second in the league in total yards allowed as they are solid against the run as well. A big reason for that is because of rookie LB Tremaine Edmunds, who leads the team in tackles. If the Bills can get the same production from their offense that they got last week things should be looking good for them.

Both teams will be highly motivated to get a victory here as it will only make their AFC Wild Card chances better. While the Bills are definitely playing a bit better as of late, it’s hard for me to pick against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium when they are taking on a division opponent. The Dolphins will cover the spread and defeat the Buffalo Bills.

Just realized this will likely be my 13th season covering the #Dolphins. I don't count them till they officially start, and I honestly stopped counting them. Add my 7 years covering the Hurricanes, 1 year covering the Heat, & 3 years covering Florida State, it has been AN HONOR.

The #Bills have released TE Charles Clay, in a move that was an obvious one after they made him a healthy scratch in Week 16. Full analysis of the move, including where the Bills go from here at tight end in the 2019 offseason: https://t.co/bARM6MbFlK

The #Bills have released TE Charles Clay. Saves $4.5 million on the 2019 salary cap.

This is why we wait to see the numbers. A sensible contract for Spencer Long. #Bills

Stepped out of the #Bills bubble to do a feature on Gary Domzalski, the longtime educator and coach of Frontier HS basketball for 32 years. A remarkable man that left most he came into contact with feeling the same about themselves. And last night, was his final home game.

The #Bills made their first strike of free agency by bringing in offensive lineman Spencer Long. My analysis of the move and what it could mean for the team in 2019: https://t.co/Pwb7rXQeyY
