Its the final week of the regular season and the Carolina Panthers hit the road to take on the New Orleans Saints. Neither team has anything to play for, New Orleans has already locked in home field advantage and Carolina has already been eliminated from the playoffs.

The Saints will be the number one seed in the NFC regardless of the outcome of Sundays game. As a result, they can afford to rest key players and limit the number of snaps certain players will take in order to minimize the risk of injury’s. I expect to see a lot of Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill as Drew Brees should be on the sideline for most of the game if not the entire game. Running backs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram should get a lot of touches before head Coach Sean Payton decides to pull them. All though Ingram could play an extended amount of time after missing the first four weeks of the year for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs he should be fresh and ready to go.

Last weeks 31-28 victory over Pittsburgh help New Orleans clinch the one seed for the first time since 2009 when they went on to win the Super Bowl. In the game Drew Brees threw for 326 yards with a 2-yard touchdown to Michael Thomas with 1:25 left in the game to give New Orleans the three point victory. As a team, New Orleans is averaging 384.9 yards of total offense and 32.7 points per game that is currently the second best in the league. The Saints are also tough against the run, giving up the fewest rushing yards per game this season, allowing just 78.1 yards per game on the ground.

Carolina has been on a roller-coaster all season, the first half of the year they were on their way up and since week nine they have been on their way down. The once 6-2 Panthers are now 6-9 and out of the playoff hunt. Even with the Saints resting players this week Carolina is still the under dog. Backup quarterback Tyler Heinicke has been placed on injured reserve due to an injured left elbow. With Cam Newton already shut down for the season because of a shoulder injury that leaves third string QB Kyle Allen to make his first career start.

After losing seven straight games following a 24-10 home loss to the Falcons the Panthers look to end the season on a good-note. Allen came in late in the game and went 4-4 with 38 passing yards. If Carolina stands a chance of wining this game Kyle Allen with have to have the game of his life, but he wont have to do it alone he has Christian McCaffrey who leads the team in rushing yards and receiving yards. McCaffrey needs just four receiving yards to join Alvin Kamara to become the only two players in NFL history with 1,500 career rushing yards and 1,500 career receiving yards in their first two seasons. Head Coach Ron Rivera said McCaffrey could be limited in teams final game and if he is expect back Cameron Artis-Payne to carry the rock.

Free NFL Prediction Carolina Panthers Vs New Orleans Saints

New Orleans has won four straight against Carolina beating them three times last year and once already this season. I expect the Saints to come out hot and ready as the starters get a couple stops on defense and the offense scores a couple touchdowns before Sean Payton decides to take them out. If Kyle Allen cant get the offense in a grove it could be a long day for the Panthers. New Orleans has the number one rush defense in the league so Carolina is going to be forced to throw the ball and no way Kyle Allen picks the defense apart, so i’m going to pick the Saints in a close one.
