Carolina Panthers (6-2) vs Pittsburg Steelers (5-2-1)
NFL Football, Thursday, November 8th, 2018, 8:20 PM (Heinz Field)
Line and Odds: Panthers -3.5 Over/Under: 51

This game will feature two top teams in the NFL. Both teams will continue to push towards the playoffs.

Pittsburg Steelers

The big question coming into this game is whether Le’Veon Bell will report. The Steelers haven’t had his services all season. He has until the 13th to sign with the Steelers or he will be ineligible to play in 2018. He reported earlier this week that he said goodbye to Miami where he had been working out. The team is hoping that means he is headed to Pittsburg. They would hope to have his services this week against the Panthers.

The Pittsburg Steelers come into this shortened week after a victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are a division rival and were hosting the Steelers. This was a classic AFC North battle. These two teams have a history. The Steelers have 5 wins and that is without Bell as their running back. They also had issues earlier this year between Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown. This team has turned the corner of early season issues. Brown has at least 1 touchdown in the last 6 games. They had a tie with the Cleveland Browns in week 1 and has been solid since. In their 5 wins, they have not allowed more than 27 points. The got a little revenge on the Ravens after the Ravens beat them in Pittsburg. The other losses this season came to the Kansas City Chiefs who are one of the top teams in the AFC and NFL.

The Panthers on their short week came off a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Like the Steelers, the Panthers had a division game. The Panthers would roll over the Buccaneers. Cam Newton really it very easy against the Buccaneers. The Buccaneer defense is on pace to set the NFL record for most points allowed. The Steelers defense is much stronger than the one the Panthers faced last Sunday.

The Panthers currently sit in second place in the NFC South. They are looking up at the New Orleans Saints. The Saints just beat the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams lost their first game of 2018. The Panthers have had some close victories this season. One of their wins came against the 1-7 New York Giants. They won only by two points. This will be a good matchup on Thursday night. Both teams are starting to get hot. They will both need to keep winning to stay in the playoff hunt. The question is will the Panthers have to prepare for Bell. The Steelers have a good running game without Bell. The Panthers will have to be ready either way.Look for both teams to be balanced. With the records that they both have they know how to win. Both quarterbacks have proven they can win. Cam Newton seems to finally be coachable. Norv Turner is molding yet another good quarterback. Look for a mid-scoring game both defenses are capable of stopping the other. Both offenses have scored points.

My Pick: Pittsburg Steelers -3.5
