NHL Scores Chicago Blackhawks at Montreal Canadiens
The Chicago will swing into Montreal to take on the Canadiens tonight. Although there is somewhat of a disparity in the records of these teams, both of them are playing rather well, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into a bit of a slugfest. The Blackhawks are coming off a 5-4 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens are looking to rebound after an unfortunate 2-1 loss against the New York Islanders. With both of these teams primed and ready, this should be a good game to watch and wager on.
When the Blackhawks played the Toronto Maple Leafs, they quickly jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Unfortunately for the Blackhawks, the Maple Leafs would get goals from Andreas Johnsson, Auston Matthews, John Tavares and Morgan Rielly and make the game a bit more interesting. However, it seems Toronto’s players were thoroughly spent after that, because no more goals were scored and Chicago held off Toronto for a 5-4 victory.
As stated previously, the Canadiens definitely sputtered a bit in their 2-1 loss to the Islanders on Thursday. The only goal the Canadiens notched was from Jordie Benn in the second period. Habs goalie Carey Price put up a valiant effort, allowing just 2 goals on 38 shots. Normally, that would have been sufficient, but the offense of the Habs just didn’t match up.

NHL Scores Montreal Canadiens vs. Chicago Blackhawks
In looking at the latest game that Montreal played against the Islanders, it almost seems like it was a totally different team out there than the Canadiens team that shows up in the NHL standings. The Canadiens are solid, middle-of-the-pack playoff contenders, but they wouldn’t have known it on Thursday from their lackadaisical play. On the other hand, the Chicago Blackhawks are playing with a lot more drive, but in the standings they are only doing .500 hockey. Considering that the Blackhawks are 8-2 in the last 10 contests between these two teams and 4-0 when they play them on the road, the plus money in this game is just too enticing for me. I feel the Blackhawks continue their upward trend.
