One day after being released by the Los Angeles Rams, Todd Gurley has found a new home. Gurley heads east as he and the Atlanta Falcons have agreed on a one-year deal worth $6 million. The deal is still pending a physical.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the Gurley signing, also noting that his total 2020 earnings will amount to $11 million. The additional $5 million being paid by the Los Angeles Rams, which keeps Gurley one of NFL’s three highest-paid running backs.
After releasing star running back Devonta Freeman, the Falcons bringing Gurley back to Georgia where he played college was a perfect fit. Todd will join former Rams teammate Dante Fowler Jr in Atlanta as well after he was recently inked to a three-year $48 million contract.
