Free NFL Pick Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

If you would have told me two months ago that the Colts would be favored against the Jaguars and that I would agree with it, I would have called you crazy. This season more than most, is showing that quarterback play and coaching absolutely matter in this league. You can’t win without a quarterback unless you have an ALL-TIME GREAT defense. It can’t just be a great or very good. It has to be ALL-TIME GREAT in all caps. If that defense slips at all, like it has in Jacksonville, it’s over unless you have a qb you can trust. And Blake Bortles is not the answer. The Jags refuse to even consider Colin Kaepernick, even though they could turn into a contender with him. And just like that, this team’s window is closed. Jacksonville’s defense is still good and one of the best in the league, it just can’t stay on the field forever because their offense is not pulling its weight. In any game, if the Jags get down by ten points, it’s game over. That is how bad their quarterback situation is. And in a matchup with the Colts and Andrew Luck playing at full health, they will be down by more than ten.

The Colts are 3-5 and considering how bad they have been the past few seasons, that is a wonderful accomplishment. I personally had my doubts about if Andrew Luck would ever return to the quarterback he once was, and he has without a doubt proved me wrong. He has been fantastic. And he has done it without a run game for most of the season, and his best pass catchers in and out of the lineup. Just based on Luck’s greatness, I believe the Colts can score points on anyone. And their defense is facing Blake Bortles, so they won’t have to worry about the passing game too much. Luck has the comeback player of the year awards locked up already, but if he gets the Colts into playoff contention, he could be looking at MVP as well.

The Colts to win this game by at least a touchdown. Just because this Jacksonville defense is worn down from the burden of carrying the entire organization is their backs. Jalen Ramsey is one of the best defensive backs in the world, but if he’s on the field for 40=plus minutes, of course he is going to give up some big plays. The Colts offensive line has been playing very well, which is something that would have been crazy to say out loud a year ago. Marlon Mack has been great since coming back from injury. All these factors add up to the Colts winning this game, and it not being that hard to do.
