NFL Picks Indianapolis Colts vs Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins

Last week, the Miami Dolphins won their first game of the season. Now, the Cincinnati Bengals are the only winless team in the league.

The Colts pulled off the win against a team that now has an identical record to theirs. They beat the New York Jets (a fellow AFC East team) 26-18.

In this game, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 36 passes. He threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns along the way.

Fitzpatrick gained the starting quarterback position, as he started the season in that role, but ended up losing it later on. Now, he is the Dolphins leading passer and has over 1,195 yards.

Dolphins receiver Preston Williams caught two of Fitzpatrick’s touchdown passes, as he finished the game with 72 receiving yards. This week, the Dolphins have to play without Williams, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in this game. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores hopes Miami’s other receivers step up in Williams’ absence.

The Dolphins find themselves 1-7 as they head to Indianapolis to face the Colts.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts lost a close one last week, as they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-24.

The Colts lost their division lead with their loss, and the Houston Texans are the top team of the AFC South. But, the Colts aren’t too far behind.

In their loss to the Steelers, backup quarterback Brian Hoyer threw for 168 yards, completing 17-of-26 passes. Hoyer had one interception but threw three touchdowns in the process.

Hoyer filled in for Jacoby Brissett (the starting quarterback of the Colts) as he left last week’s game with a sprained MCL in his left knee. This week, Hoyer will be the Colts’ starting quarterback as Indianapolis ruled out Brissett for today’s game.

Brissett’s injury is one of the few injuries the Colts are dealing with. Their top receiver T.Y. Hilton is out for this game, as he continues to recover from a calf injury. Their rookie receiver Parris Campbell is also out for this game, as he suffered a broken hand. The Colts are dealing with injuries, but they face a 1-7 team they should easily beat.

NFL Picks Miami Dolphins vs Indianapolis Colts

The Dolphins managed to get their first win, but it was against a team just as bad (if not worse) in the Jets. The Colts will play without Brissett, and Hoyer will take his place. Despite not having Brissett, the Colts can get the win. The Dolphins give up 150.8 rushing yards per game, which is second to last in the league. If the Colts take advantage of this with their running back Marlon Mack, the Colts should pull off the win.

Pick: Indianapolis -11.5
