Minnesota was able to get a key win on Sunday night over divisional opponent Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but next week the Vikings head to Gillette Stadium to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Minnesota was able to pull off the victory last night in a 24-17 showdown against the Packers. Kirk Cousins completed 29 of his 38 pass attempts for 342 yards and three touchdowns without a fumble or an interception.Cousins found Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen for scores. Diggs and Thielen had eight receptions apiece and over 200 receiving yards between the two.

New England Patriots Vs Minnesota Vikings

Defensively, the Vikings are starting to look like the defense that went to the NFC championship just a year ago. In the last seven games the Vikings have only given up more than 25 points one time, and it was against the New Orleans Saints who scored 30. Against Green Bay the Vikings defense did just that, holding the Packers offense to just 17 points and 254 total yards of offense while suffocating Aaron Rodgers all night. Sheldon Richardson led the way with two sacks holding Rodgers to a season low 198 passing yards.

New England is coming off a divisional win as well, they beat the New York Jets 27-13 to improve to 8-3 on the season. The win marks New England’s 18th straight season with a .500 record or better. That ranks second all time behind Dallas, who has 21 in a row from 1965-85.In the game Brady completed 20 of his 31 pass attempts for 283 yards and two touchdowns. Tom is now the NFL’s all time leader in passing yards in the regular-season and playoff games. Brady also reached 3,000 yards passing for the 16th season , tying Peyton Manning for the second in NFL history behind Brett Favre’s 18.

Good news for the Patriots, Rob Gronkowski made his return after missing his previous two games. Gronk made his presents know with a 34-yard receiving touchdown in the first quarter to give New England a 7-0 lead. Although Gronk made his return, the running game is what got the offense moving, rookie Sony Michel ran for a season high 133 yards and a touchdown. James White added to the mix with nine carriers and 73-yards to give New England 215 rushing yards on the day.

Predictions Minnesota Vikings Vs New England Patriots

The Vikings have won five of their last seven games and look to continue to make a push for the playoffs with a victory over the Patriots. New England has won seven of their last eight games and will need a victory to stay in the number two seed in the conference. At Home New England is one of three teams still undefeated, and against Minnesota I see that streak continuing. With Gronkowski healthy the Patriots offense is a different bread, I don’t see Minnesota holding the Patriots to under 30 points so New England should walk away with the win. New England has scored at least 30 points in every game at home this season other than week one when they scored 27 against Houston. If they play like they have all season at home, New England should win the game.
