NFL Picks San Francisco 49ers vs Minnesota Vikings

The NFC No.6 seed Minnesota Vikings pulled off an upset in their Wild Card game, as they traveled to New Orleans and beat the Saints 26-20 in overtime.

One of the biggest reasons for their win was the return of Dalvin Cook. Cook rushed for 94 yards and had touchdowns in the process. Cook missed the Vikings’ previous two games, and when he returned against the Saints, he made an impact.

The Vikings also had a good performance from Adam Thielen, as he had seven receptions for 129 yards. Thielen suffered a scary injury during Wednesday’s practice, which led to concerns that he had torn his Achilles. Thielen received four stitches close to the would he suffered. Although he discussed very little with the media, Thielen told them he to “let it ride” and will see what happens in today’s game.

On the other hand, a rested 49ers are ready to get back on the field. They got a Week 17 win over the Seahawks, which led to them winning the NFC West. It also led to a first-round bye. Today, they are back in action as they host the Vikings.

In their Week 17 win, Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 285 yards while completing 18-of-22 passes. The 49ers also had three touchdowns from Raheem Mostert and Deebo Samuel. Mostert (who rushed for 57 yards) had two touchdowns, and Samuel (who rushed for 33 yards) had one.

One noteworthy thing about the 49ers this season was their defense. The 49ers defense were one of the top defenses as they ranked in the top 3 of numerous categories. They were first in Pass Defense (169.2) and ranked second in total defense (281.8 yards per game). The 49ers will potentially play with Dee Ford as he remains questionable with a hamstring injury. So, we’ll see if he plays.

The 49ers are rested and at home. The Vikings pulled off a great win against the Saints, but they may not get past the 49ers. With that being said, the 49ers should get the win.
