Welcome to Super Bowl LIII between the AFC New England Patriots and the NFC Los Angeles Rams. The Patriots are making their third start straight Super Bowl appearance and NFL record 11th appearance in franchise history. Tom Brady will be going for his sixth ring and he is going to probably put up another amazing performance. Meanwhile, the Rams are making their third Super Bowl appearance in franchise history and the last time they made it to the big game was against Brady’s Patriots back in 2001. The Rams lost that game 20-17 and it was New England’s first Super Bowl win, and Brady’s first Super Bowl MVP. Both these teams are coming off thrilling overtime wins to get here and the same could happen in this game, with the Patriots being only favored by 1.5 points. Sunday’s quarterbacks are Tom Brady vs Jared Goff.

The New England Patriots are once again back in the Super Bowl. Even though numerous amounts of football fans give this team a lot of hate and doubt, they still find a way to be in the final game of the season. The Patriots will be going for their sixth title and then they will be tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most all-time. Tom Brady once again shows no signs of slowing down and his last two Super Bowl games were historic and some of the best games of his soon to be 40 game, playoff career. Two years ago, the Pats were down 28-9, to the Atlanta Falcons, going into the fourth quarter. Brady would get some quick scoring going, force overtime, and win the game on the first drive of extra time. It was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history and pretty much gave Brady the GOAT status. Even though the Patriots came up short last year against the Eagles, Brady still threw for 505 yards and three touchdown passes. Now Brady didn’t have his best game against the Chiefs in the AFC game, as he only had one touchdown pass, and two interceptions, but when it comes down to crunch time, he has delivered more times then anybody else. This team feeds off any doubt they hear and are always ready to compete on the NFLs biggest stage.

The Los Angeles Rams have been either the best or second best team in the rankings this year. LA started the season 8-0 and were just cruising through games. Out of nowhere, Goff emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, threw for 4688 yards, and had 10 games this year with a qbr rating over 100. This guy has come a long way from being a good quarterback during his Cal Bear days to leading this talented Rams team to the Super Bowl. It also helps that you have a powerful rushing duo in Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson. Finally, this team has found ways to win, in some of the closest games this season, and that’s what champions do. Just like the Patriots, this team has been through some doubters this season and have proven everyone wrong. The Rams had a solid win against the Cowboys in the divisional round and a come from behind, overtime win, to send the Saints home. Now how will the Rams take down Mr Super Bowl in Tom Brady? Well they might be able to slow him down a bit on defense and score just enough to win anyway. The Rams have scored close to 30 points or more in every game this season except one and that was against the tough Chicago Bears defense, in cold Chicago. Look for the Rams to ram through the Patriots defense early and often.

So, who will win Super Bowl LIII? The Patriots have all the experience in this game and Brady is 5-3 in the big game. The Rams have what the Patriots had back in the early days of the Patriots-Brady success and that’s confidence that they have a great foundation of players that can do great things. Los Angeles showed this belief all season long and it will show on Super Bowl Sunday. New England has the better quarterback, but the Rams have the edge in rushing. The Patriots defense has given up only seven first half points in the playoffs and will look to do the same against the Rams. LA can’t play catch up in this game or Brady will ride the ship. This game will be close throughout and might come down to another Greg Zuerlein game winning field goal. Rams win 30-27
