The Dallas Cowboys hosts the New York Giants in the first game of the season. The division matchup will feature two of the best running backs in the league.

The Dallas Cowboys roll into their home AT&T Stadium with their star running back Ezekiel Elliott under contract. After Elliott's long holdout and owner, Jerry Jones comments towards him, the Cowboys and Elliott resolved their issues to make Elliott the highest-paid running back in the NFL. Elliott is coming off the most rushing yards of any player last year and is a major factor if the Cowboys are able to make a playoff run. With the Cowboys all over headlines over the contracts they may or may not be giving to Quarterback Dak Prescott and Wide Receiver Amari Cooper, the Cowboys can just handle business and quiet some noise.

The New York Giants will feature their own star running back in Saquon Barkley. The former #2 overall pick won the rookie of the year last year and was second in rushing yards behind Elliott. However, the Giants are noticeably different this season after trading star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr to Cleveland. Also, the Giants had picked Duke's Daniel Jones with the #6 pick to the shock of many. Although Jones looked good in the preseason, the Giants are still starting Eli Manning on Sunday, hoping for Manning to come back to form from years ago.
