NFL FUTURE WIN TOTALS OVER/UNDER CLEVELAND BROWNS

The Cleveland Browns won one game last season, the last time we saw a team not even win a game was the 2008 Detroit Lions. Cleveland has been faced with blunder after blunder since the draft of Johnny Manziel. And after not seeing the playoffs since 2002 as well as not capturing a playoff win since 1994, NFL fans feel for all Brown fans. Quarterback after quarterback and the Browns have yet to find a starter, going through a multitude amount of quarterbacks in the past four seasons. With the Indians World Series trip last season and the Cavaliers most recent success in the NBA, the city of Cleveland still has something to look forward too, in regards to sports. It seems as if once a player comes to the Browns it’s all downhill from there, Manziel, Gordon, the list can continue. The Browns sure hope that’s not the case with their most recently drafted first round picks. Being that the Browns odds to winning the Super Bowl is 225 to 1, we can expect the Browns to win about nearly the same amount of games as last season.

By taking a glance at the Browns roster, Browns fans can expect to be supporting that brown bag all season. With the only bright spots being there first round draft picks Myles Garrett, Jabrill Peppers and David Njoku. Being the Browns let go of one their only bright spots on the roster TE Gary Barnidge to allow rookie David Njoku to take the starting role now. Along with Terrelle Pryor going to the Washington Redskins, just highlights the outcome of this team’s success next year. Three of the Browns first round picks will be expected to start next season, with Garrett at the defensive end spot, Jabrill Peppers at the strong safety spot and David Njoku at the tight end spot. Although this may not be suitable for short term success, it’s believed to be the Browns are looking to be building for the future (as it seems like they always are).

Losing, Demario Davis and Calvin Pryor is a blunder to the Browns lackluster defense being that these two players were more of a bright spot for the Browns defense. Along with Donte Carey, losing three players on your defensive end is a blow. The biggest blows come on the other side of the ball though, Josh McCown ships off to “rival” New York Jets, Robert Griffin III stint is done with after the injury prone quarterback did not prove his worth. Gary Barnidge as mentioned before is now a free agent and the only real player that kept drawing fans into games probably, Terrelle Pryor is gone. The young, dynamic, fast wide receiver is heading to the Washington Redskins now.

CLEVELAND BROWNS NFL FUTURE WIN TOTALS OVER/UNDER 4.5

What to expect from the Browns season? Ups and downs and a whole lot of mixed emotions, as always though. With the Browns three first round picks, fans cannot be upset with the outcome of the draft, receiving DE Myles Garrett who performed unbelievably at the NFL combine is a major upside , and many should be happy the Browns did not go with another QB at the #1 spot. Along with Peppers and Njoku the Browns roster is extremely young and has a lot of room to grow. Barring the Browns lack luster of offensive talent, Kenny Britt is a viable option but giving his old age Brown fans can not expect more than 900+ plus yards from him. With Isaiah Crowell at the running back slot is a mixed emotion, Crowell can do well on the ground, but does not have the offensive line to help him much. And what every NFL fan dreads, the training camp quarter back competition. The Browns are supporting the “we don’t have a starter yet, we’ll see who shows the most” attitude. With rookie DeShone Kizer the 2nd round QB will be in the mix of competition between Brock Osweiler and Cody Kessler. The QB spot is a huge question mark and the Browns are hoping to find a starter that will last, not one that will fail like the past 17 quarterbacks they’ve had in the last twenty years.

Outlook: It’s not pretty by any stretch for the Cleveland Browns heading into the 2017 NFL season. What we can tell you right now, they will win more than one game this season. Will they cover the 4.5? This seems like it would be a dramatic improvement from last year, but if you look at the tapes the Browns let a lot of games get away from them late. I expect to see the Browns start to get their act together this season. This by no means they will win the division or sniff the playoffs. I do see them winning 5 or 6 games this season though. The dog pound will be making some noise this year with a couple victories, if anything Cleveland can celebrate having a slightly below average NFL season. Hey, that’s progress for these Brownies!
