Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) vs. Los Angeles Rams (9-3)

NFL Football: Sunday, December 10th, 2017, 4:25 PM @ Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Line & Odds: Philadelphia Eagles -125        Spread: Eagles -2.5       Over/Under: 49

In what will certainly be the most talked about game of the week, The Carson Wentz led Philadelphia Eagles head west to take on the Jared Goff led Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles are coming off of a disappointing 24-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks so Wentz will be looking to bounce back this week. Wentz has thrown for 3,005 yards along with 29 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions on the year. He has been getting alot of help from both Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz. Jefferey has caught 47 passes for 680 yards and 7 touchdowns. Ertz has put together 57 receptions for 663 yards and 7 touchdowns as well.

The Los Angeles Rams have been a pleasant surprise for NFL fans as Jared Goff and Todd Gurley seem to be carrying them to paradise with one of the most explosive offenses we have seen this year! Goff has thrown for 3,184 yards along with 20 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Gurley has rushed for 939 yards thus far along with 8 touchdowns. Thanks to these two players, the Rams have one of the most high powered offenses in the league. It would also be worth noting that the Rams defense ranks seventh in points against so they are not just a one trick pony.

Current Trends courtesy of CTS365:

  • Philadelphia is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games
  • Philadelphia is 5-1 SU in their last 6 games against Los Angeles
  • Los Angeles is 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 games against Philadelphia
  • The TOTAL has gone UNDER in 4 of the last 6 games for both teams

This is probably one of the most anticipated games of the year. The first and second pick of the 2016 NFL draft, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz respectively, are both seemingly taking their teams to the playoffs. Goff is 9-3 and Wentz is 10-2. So which way am I leaning? Simple. When I look at match ups like these that on paper appear to be very close, I do one thing. I rely on numbers. I look for trends. Unfortunately for Jared Goff and the Rams, the trends do not favor them. The Rams are 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 games against the Eagles. The Eagles are also 5-1 SU against the Rams in their last 6. Therefore, I am taking the Eagles at -125 to win. Good luck out there and please remember to check out our other free NFL picks courtesy of Cover the Spread 365!

Much will depend on how well he plays and how long Nomar Mazara is on the disalbed list. #Rangers
