Philadelphia Eagles

Last week, the Eagles beat the New York Jets 31-6. This marks their second straight win, as they beat the Green Bay Packers on September 26th. They beat the Packers 34-27. While their latest win was against a team that remains winless (the Jets are 0-4), the Eagles took care of business. They did what they were supposed to do and got the easy win. It was important as their next game will be more of a challenge.

For the first time since 2017, the Eagles will be on the road for their next three games. They have the Minnesota Vikings on the 13th, the Dallas Cowboys on the 20th, and the Buffalo Bills on the 27th. Each of their upcoming opponents have winning records and can potentially beat the Eagles, or at least give them a more competitive game than their blowout win against the Jets.

In this game, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz the game with 189 passing yards while completing 17 of his 29 passes. Wentz also threw a touchdown in this game.

For the Eagles, their offense managed only 17 points and 265 yards in this game. The Eagles got the blowout win, but it was more so due to their defensive.

While the offensive wasn’t spectacular, it was the defense that shined in this game. The Eagles defense played well and even made a bit of history while doing it. They became the first team in league history to record 10 or more sacks, a fumble recovery TD, and an INT-TD in the same game.

For a team that started 1-2 this season, the Eagles are back on track. As they prepare for their next three weeks on the road, they have a team with the same record. They have the Minnesota Vikings.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings are 3-2 after their win over the New York Giants on Sunday. They beat the Giants 28-10.

Vikings Quarterback Kirk Cousins had 306 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also completed 22 of his 27 pass attempts. Dalvin Cook had 132 yards rushing (6.3/attempt) as well as 86 yards receiving (14.3/catch). He also had 218 yards total from the scrimmage. Cook now ranks second in the NFL with 542 rushing yards and 742 from the scrimmage.

In that game, the Vikings’ defense allowed only 10 points, 211 total yards. Performances from players like Danielle Hunter, the Vikings defense played well and stopped the Giants in the process. So, overall, the Vikings played well.

Minnesota’s win over the Giants gave them their first road win of the season, as they lost to the Packers and Bears in previous weeks. Now, the Vikings are back home as they prepare to host the Eagles.

As of now, both teams have the same record. The Eagles are 3-2 and are ranked second in the NFC East. The Vikings are also 3-2 but are fourth in the NFC North. The Eagles are on their winning streak and can potentially extend their streak against the Vikings.

The Vikings are hosting the Eagles for the first time since 2013. They played road games in previous seasons but now have the chance to beat the Eagles in US Bank Stadium.

Both defensives are effective and could play a part in both teams’ performance in this game. The Eagles defense had their historic performance last week, and their run defense has allowed 63.0 rushing yards per game. The Vikings defense played well last week and are tied for second in the NFL with 31 tackles for loss. They also rank in the top five in both yards allowed per game and points allowed per game. This game could be a good one and honestly can go to either team. However, I see the Eagles getting a win on the road.

Pick: Eagles +3
