With the playoffs right around the corner, both teams have a lot to play for. The Saints are still trying lock up first place in the NFC and home field advantage for the postseason, and the Steelers have to fight off the surging Ravens for the AFC North division race.

Pittsburg Steelers

The Pittsburg Steelers have been struggling lately going 2-3 in their last five games, but they are coming off an impressive win against Tom Brady and the Patriots. In those five games, Pittsburg has scored and average of 21 points per game, which is 6.4 points fewer than their season average. The dynamic offense which includes Antonio Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Ben Roethlisberger is having trouble to score enough points. They are going to need more production if they are going to keep up with the Saints lethal offense. The Defense has been fairly solid lately giving up just 21.4 points per game in their previous five, which is an small improvement from their season average of 22.6. The Steelers have found success away from Pittsburg with a 4-2-1 away record, but this will be just their first game this year in a dome. With the division on the line, Mike Tomlin’s Steelers will be giving the Saints everything they have to stay atop the AFC North.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are arguably the best team in the NFL but they haven’t looked like it lately. Although they are 2-1 in their last three games, they have shown they are beatable. The Saints have only scored an average of 16.7 points per game during that stretch, which is 16 points worse than their season average. However, their defense has proven to be one of the biggest surprises this season by winning multiple games for them along with giving up just 20.9 points per game for the season. This week’s game is a good opportunity to steal home field advantage from the Rams and to get things back on track for this team lead by Drew Brees. Brees has had an MVP season leading all quarterbacks in passer rating (116.8) and Pass completion percentage (74.9). The Drew Brees and Michael Thomas connection along with help in the backfield with Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram always makes the Saints a scary team to play, especially in New Orleans.
