The Steelers had a stellar 2017 season going 13-3 only to lose to Jacksonville in the divisional. The following year was only a step in the wrong direction managing to win only 9 games and not reach the playoffs. Things were different in 2017 though, Antonio Brown was still playing well as a Steeler and meshing with the team and they had Leveon Bell in the backfield. 2018, on the other hand, was full of drama in regards to Brown. Also, Leveon held out the entire season due to contract disputes placing them second to last in rushing. The 2019 season looks to be different with fewer distractions off the field and more focus on winning football games.
Under 8.5 Wins (+110)
The Steelers are in what could be a tough division that includes an ex playoff team in the Ravens and a new potential powerhouse in Cleveland. NFL schedules are hard for each and every team and regardless of how good someone is nine times out of ten you’ll lose games. The Steelers open the season with two of the best teams in the league in New England and Seattle before things lighten up slightly. With Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell officially gone this team has lost some assets and could struggle due to that.
Over 8.5 Wins (-134)
On the other hand, it is Big Ben and Mike Tomlin. They have a solid foundation and two decent replacements for Bell and Brown in Smith-Schuster and James Conner who proved themselves last season. In some ways, you’d rather have those two guys than controversial and drama-ridden players like Leveon and Antonio Brown. The Steelers added lots of talent as well drafting Michigan linebacker Devin Bush with the 10th pick. They’ve also added former Rams linebacker Mark Barron, Jaguars wideout Donte Moncrief and Chiefs wide receiver Steven Nelson in free agency in hopes that this collective unit will help to generate the success found in 2017.

The Steelers were in a weird spot with all the drama the past few years but at the end of the day, they are an incredibly talented team. Although they ranked moderately in most categories last year things should be better this year having a solid roster and no controversy. Being in the AFC North you have the upper hand in the AFC. All four teams as of recent in the North have been up and down and unreliable. The Ravens could easily have a down year along side the Bengals. Pittsburgh should undoubtedly surpass the 8.5 game line this year.
